If we all act together as a GP community we can help preserve good local NHS services for our patients. Lewisham needs your support. Name: Dr Andrew Platman on Jan 13, 2013Comments: The prospect of the TSA's proposals being steamrollered in against the strong evidence presented in support of Lewisham remaining a viable entity, fills me and most of my patients, with horror. I urge the Secretary of State to chuck out the TSAs proposals for Lewisham Hospital's downgrade forthwith.Borough you Practice In: LewishamFlag

Comments: Don't ignore the opinions of clinical experts. Downgrading of services at Lewisham will be a disaster and will lead to extra burden at Kings College HospitalBorough you Practice In: LewishamFlag -

Name: Dr Kishor Vasant on Jan 13, 2013Comments: Closing Lewisham Hospital will be detrimental to local residents, especially those who are disbled and have poor mobility. They might prefer not to seek help. With the 111 service starting, it is likely that A&E activity will increase, and we will need all the hospital services.Borough you Practice In: SouthwarkFlag

Name: Dr Frances Diffley on Jan 14, 2013Comments: I agree with the above statements. I am a Lewisham resident and work as a GP in Southwark - this will certainly have an impact on services in Southwark as Kings College Hospital is a lot more convenient for Lewisham residents than Woolwich.Borough you Practice In: SouthwarkFlag

Name: Dr Jacqueline McLEOD on Jan 14, 2013Comments: As a GP in Lewisham and Medical Director I wholeheartedly agree with the contents of this petition and the clear and significant arguments put forward. The people of Lewisham should not be made to pay for financial problems in another Healthcare Trust. The demographics and health inequality data clearly demonstrate that this population will be least able to adapt to this change and health inequaltities will widen. The Conservative party pledged that the NHS would be safe in their hands - it clearly isn't and the country needs to wake up and see the destruction of public healthcare in the UK.Borough you Practice In: LewishamFlag

Lewisham also provides excellent training for both undergraduate mediva;l students cfrom Kings College London and postgraduate doctors through the London Deanery and closing services will adversely affect the this training.Borough you Practice In: SouthwarkFlag

Name: Suman San on Jan 14, 2013Comments: As a Southwark GP and a Lewisham resident myself, colleagues and many friends are dismayed that a solvent sucessful hopsital not part of SLHT is subject to these proposals. this will i am sure result in reduced qualiy of care to South London residents. IF changes are made, i am concerned that many patients wil not be able to travel to Wollwich for Emergency or Maternity care please do not go ahead with these changes to Lewisham HospitalBorough you Practice In:Flag
