What me and my friends are trying to do for the town of Gowanda Ny is, to try to get a community Hockey court,Tennis court, or skatepark. In our town of Gowanda all we have a small basketball court, and a childrens play ground. My goal is to get something more for the community of Gowanda to target more adults and young adults to get more involved with different types of sports. My friends and I enjoy playing hockey,tennis,skateboarding,lacrosse and other activities.In fact we travel thousands of miles a year just to play these sports, traveling 440 miles to ohio's skate plaza, 30 miles to dunkirk skatepark ,30 miles to hamburg 35 miles to orchard park skatepark,20 miles to springville for hockey and tennis,50 miles to buffalo hockey and skateboarding, 140 miles to canada's St.Catherines hockey and skateboard park,95 miles to niagra falls skatepark,250 miles to toronto just to be able to skateboard,play hockey,and lacrosse, thats over 1,090 miles a week, 52 ,320 miles a year on my car.I Paid over one thousand dollars in gas. If we had a skatepark,a hockey court in Gowanda that would save everybody hundreds of dollars in fuel, and hundreds of miles on our cars. Everthing we need would be here in our home town.
