I have been directly affected by the 2013 government shutdown either by lost wages, lost income or lost investments. I will document these losses by April 2014 and deduct these losses from any tax payment I may owe. I will not pay for the salaries of bureaucrats that irresponsibly affect my income. By withholding my tax payment to the US Government, I am refusing to pay for services that are not delivered, for National Parks that are not open or for agencies that are not accessible to the American people. The actions I take are designed to signal our representatives in Washington that we the people have a voice to be heard and will no longer pay for a dysfunctional government.
