How is it possible that the police and authorities in Japan simply do not mind if people in Japan for religious reasons were kidnapped, imprisoned and tortured

However, Mr Goto, a Unification Church member is just the tip of the iceberg. Under the apparently democratic surface in Japan more and more cases of brutal kidnapping, false imprisonment, torture, rape, starvation and psychological terror come to light.
With my name and my voice, I urge the Japanese authorities that human rights are respected in Japan and the free choice of religion is guaranteed.
Please do not ignore the victims, but help them
The momentum behind this petition has reached a level that warrants serious attention from the relevant authorities. I am grateful to those who have contributed their time to highlight these intolerable violations of fundamental rights.

Watched the videos and couldn't even finish them. Absolutely sickening that this happens to anyone.

This is honestly shocking. How is this allowed in a modern country in this day and age? People deserve basic freedom.

Religion is a personal choice. Nobody should ever be kidnapped or tortured just because of what they believe. Stop this now.
