*****DO NOT DONATE TO THIS PETITION***** Gossip Girl airs at 8 p.m. on Monday evenings on the CW. Now in its second season, the stories of Gossip Girl have the power to inspire and fill a void in the drama-less life of 20-somethings living in the desert. The Barstow City Council meets at 7:30 on Monday evenings at City Hall. Their meetings normally last an hour to an hour and a half. The two events, Gossip Girl and Council meetings, often overlap, forcing the people of Barstow to choose between the socially ambitious lives of the Manhattan elite and the dealings of their local government. This is an unfair choice. Therefore, I propose, in order to increase access to Gossip Girl and Council meetings to all of Barstow, especially myself, that the Council move its regular meetings to Wednesday night. Television shows that air on Wednesday night do not rival the awesomeness of Gossip Girl. They do not even come close. Signing this petition indicates your support to move Barstow City Council meetings to Wednesday nights in order to allow more people to watch Gossip Girl.
