Valerie FisherI am really upset as I have used page creator for many webpages ranging from chess club, stockmarket, library art gallery, and student projects. It is easy to use with great results. I am really panicking at the thought of it closing.
AnonymousI am a student learning Multimedia, and I use GPC to host my HTML sites as I learn and develop my HTML and JavaScript Skills. I have set up my GPC home page to redirect to a HTML page that I have created. When Google switches to Google Sites, I will no longer be able to upload my HTML pages. I will be limited to the few features that Google Sites provides. I will have to find another place to host my HTML site. I do not have the money to purchase a domain. GPC is a great place for people to learn the basics of HTML and JavaScript. Those basics just can not be learned by using Google sites. If Google is going to shut down GPC, they should give us a place to upload our files and be able to do everything that GPC already does. Better yet, just leave GPC running!!!

fjpoblamTwo of my not-for-profits use GPC. Now they will be forced to move to Sites. Sites adds an unnecessary layer of complexity for these small groups. Further, if Page Editor is not fully available in Sites, as it was in GPC and as it has heretofore been in Sites, Sites will be useless as well. More (unwanted) complexity at greater cost! Please bring back GPC! As the saying goes, K.I.S.S.!
TaggerungI use Google Page Creator to provide an update host for my software and as a easy place to share my freeware. Google Sites url is way to hard for most people to memeorise, e.g. http://sites.google.com/site/studentease/ for my StudentEase software. In GPC it was http://studentease.googlepages.com/ , very easy to remember. Keep Google Page Creator! There is no reason Google must shut it down to work on Google Sites!

AnonymousGoogle Pages is better than Google Sites. At least let those who have Google Pages keep their sites. Please.

PinkI have been a GPC for over 1.5 years now..I have many many hours of time in mywebsite, I have many many links in Google searches for my googlepage. I have my own Business, Sites is nice but it's not as nice as GPC because of no tags allowed. I don't want much just to embed a Music player and have Animated Gifs. Google your hurting some businesses by not allowing tags and closing GPC.

AnonymousFrom everything I have read, my ex-students GPC site in its current form cannot be moved and work as is. There are going to be several ex-students around the world who are going to be greatly disappointed. Does Google have a viable ?alternative?
AnonymousYes, I dispise Google Sites, its nothing good compared to GPC I can't even get an independent web address!!!
scottI am soooo disappointed that Google is discontinuing its "pages" in favor of "Sites". Have you checked Sites/Google.com? What an abortion! Too cumbersome, quirky, counter intuitive. Even non-functional! Something as simple as setting up layout so that maintaining a sidebar with links, is so stupidly implemented. A terrible example of a good product gone bad in an effort to make it do too much! Anyway, check out the "pages" version I made as an example for my ed tech class...... too bad I will have to lead them into a tangled web to figure out how to publish a simple portfolio site...... http://scottmichaelgraves.googlepages.com/ Scott ps: please join me in thrashing google for this stupid change in their offerings! -- Only the educated are free - Epictetus
ildiko hammondI have spent so much time and energy into my GPC websites ,which I am pleased with. I don't like the Google Sites set up, it's confusing and difficult, looks disgusting and I don't need all those extras. Give us the CHOICE but please don't cancell GPC.

Suchitra V. SrinivasanDo keep on GPC too.
LironI was shocked to find out that GPC will be removed. I use it as my school website and I upload many html files. With the new service they offer the address will be too difficult for the children to remember and I won't be able to upload the interactive exercises and everything I make for my students. I thought google's aim was to make a better service for its users, but they've made it worse. Google Sites is for beginners. I had no other choice but choose another free hosting site because it would be unprofessional to change the website's address in the middle of the school year. I will be happy to leave things as they are and use my google site just as soon as they enable me to upload html files. I do not understand this sudden change and I wish they would re-consider. Very disappointing.

J. OttoI LOVE Page cretor-there is a lot more creativity about it - the limited retro 70's junk available on the Sites stinks. and it is not as user friendly so far. Mainly the lack of available pages is concerning, as I am new to all of this, don't know CSS or HTML to create my own from scratch, and despise 90% of what I see there.
prabhu purnanit is not ethical to do away with such entities, google should have had foresight on what it wants to offer to the public - sites was it was priority then it should'nt have come out with pages............

AnonymousI really much prefer Google Page Creator to Google Sites - hate to see it disappear - wouldn't use Google Sites - don't like it.
Brian KeesburyWhat was wrong with Googlepages?
KeithGPC provided elementary school children the ability to create professional looking websites easily. GS is not a realistic alternative. If all the features of GPC are incorporated into GS, then it will be acceptable; otherwise, it's a pretty lame decision.
aliceI specifically choose googlepages over googlesites for good reason. Its simple and classy. Please don't do away with it.
SandhiI give lots of effort and time to build my presonal website which contains my research and educational information.I feels it as my best friend.if it stops i feel one of my friend lost forever :'(. So,please raise your hands against deleting googlepages.

AnonymousI have set up my website on this and I constantly update it. It has many files and links that they say will be lost and broken on transition. Please dont do this you will lose the loyalty and trust of the people who use the system

El'endia StarmanI used GPC to host much of my own stuff, and now that option is unavailable on Sites, and GPC is disappearing. So, I ask, Google, at least add hosting capabilities to Sites, or leave GPC open.
AnonymousPlease don't stop Googlepages!
JoseMy googlepages website is: http://jcabezuelo.googlepages.com I would like to have this website.
Anonymouskeep it up!!!!
shaula HaitnerIt is a reall disappointment!
A MPlease do not. This is the only free and better service out there. I got my company started with help of GPC at no cost and as I'm not making any money yet, I like the fact that Its free.
Altamir MoreiraGPC is better than GS. Only GPC allows modifying layouts with inline CSS .
AnonymousI have spent hours making this work for our non-profit organization - advertising it -- it would significantly impact all our communication, fundraising efforts not to say the need to find "a new way" for our parents who are not computer savy
World Disciples ChurchPlease please no.. It's the best hosting site I ever used.
