Googies Art Cafe is currently licenced to stay open tilll 10pm which is both annoying and stupid, Shepway district council have restricted their licence. Googies is in the heart of Folkestone witin an area tha is in need of much regeneration There have been complaints about the noise which is ridiculous considering Stones is just across the road pumping out music and tipsy teenagers until all hours !! Join the group and lets put some pressure on the council to stop this nonsense and let the fantastic live music and other events at Googies to go until midnight, support a great live venue ! will add to this later just wanted to get the ball rolling!

Ingrid Rodgers, United Kingdom2 years ago Comments: Googies is a credit to Folkestone, it's success deserves the support of the local council. They run fantastic music nights, do the best breakfasts in Folkestone and has such a friendly unpretentious atmosphere - we need more of Googies not less and some serious commercial nouse in this town!
Ryan, United Kingdom2 years ago Comments: This just shows the distructive megalomaniac back hander you hold mine and I'll hold yours attidude of folkestone council. Guaranteed none of the toffee nosed elitist Victorians have ever even frequented this one off gem and as such have know idea what Googies is all about. It's although they dont want our town to succeed and be as fantastic as the intelligent amoung us know it can be. First the parking fiasco then the the cigarette nazi police who somehow owes the council over £100.000 even though they were apparently doing rather well in stealing peoples money with the accepting nod of the local authorities and lets not forget all our cash they let Iceland look after which all just disapeared. The list goes on and on and on. Hey Folkestone council here's an idea anything you find difficult to comprehend or read put it to the people and let them decide you never know you may even find this town will grow and grow with the input of real people on a real wage in a real world.
