Pakistan is today faced with the rehabilitation and resettlement of over 3 million internally displaced persons from the areas where military operation against the militants is going on on full scale and the inhabitants are forced to leave their homes to live in peace outside the battle grounds. It is strongly urged that All humanitarian aid for the IDPs MUST be routed through the United Nations and other internationally recognized agencies ONLY to ensure it is well spent and well accounted for. We appeal to ALL member countries of the United Nations to come forward and extend aid from their government treasury and/or private donors as fast as possible. Any delay could agitate the IDPs and help the militants to exploit the deteriorating situation to their advantage.

mohsin, Pakistan6 years ago Comments: IDP issue is as much important as is the on-going mily operation. In fact if we bungle up any one of the two, we may land in very serious trouble. Our friends must understand that the IDP numbers are soaring. If massive supplies are not flown in for their relief by our friends, we may see unbearable instability. Likewise if their Rehabilitation is lax, new threat would emerge for the country etc. The Govt has to restore trust among IDP as the deficit in this sector is considerable. Winning the war against extremists would be guaranteed by very honest implementation of Relief/Rehabilitation process. So we have have a long way to go.
