Doing Good for the People Amendment on Congressional Reform

1. No Tenure, No Pensions, nor Vacation pay for Congressional members. A Congressional member collects a wage while only in office and receives no pay when they are out of office.

2. Congress (past, present & future) participates in Social Security. All funds in the Congressional retirement fund move to the Social Security system immediately. All future funds flow into the Social Security system, and Congress participates with the American people. Funds may not be used for any other purpose.

3. Congress can purchase their own retirement plan in addition to participating in Social Security.

4. Congress will no longer vote themselves a pay raise. Congressional pay will rise by the lower of CPI or 3% annually.

5. Congress loses their current health care system and participates in the same health care system as the American people.

6. Congress must equally abide by all laws they impose on the American people.

7. All contracts with past and present Congressmen are void effective 6/1/12.

8. Congress can no longer use add-ons or "earmarks" to add in unrelated bills.

9. The President can use a line item veto to send Bills or Amendments back to Congress for Re

9. Professional Lobbyists are hereby outlawed.

10. Corporations are no longer allowed to directly contribute funds to a political campaign or SuperPacs.

11. The election process for all positions are shortened to the 6 months prior to the election date.

12. Election day is a national holiday.

13. Congress is required to submit a balanced budget one year prior to that calendar year. Surplus funds will be devoted equally to American education system, national infrastructure, Social Security Fund, & a National "Emergency Fund" for future crisis.
