Name: Jeannine Pense on Aug 30, 2002State: ARCountry: USComments: My father was also an Athiest, although I wouldn't know his opinion of the pledge o allegience. Something I must say, is that he did believe there was something out there, that gave him a purpose. The opportunity to raise me and my twin sister. He died only a month after my sister and I moved to Arkansas from Las Vegas, Nevada,in January 3, 1990.Flag

Name: Jeannine Pense on Aug 30, 2002State: ARCountry: USComments: My father Roy Author Prisbrey, was also an Athiest, although I wouldn't know his opinion of the pledge o allegience. Something I must say, is that there was no God, even though he did believe there was something out there, that gave him a purpose. The opportunity to raise me and my twin sister. We just thought he was being a little emotional, even having feelings of a father and children bond. Ihave no idea, he said alot of things, even thought his destiny was to die in his twenties, although he made it to 34. He died only a month after my sister and I moved to Arkansas from Las Vegas, Nevada on January 3, 1990. I'm glad I got to know him anyway.Flag

I Think my father would have flushed that ruling down the toilet. God is something worth teaching our children about.Flag

What about the 50000 people who die from hunger in the world each day What about the 2yr old girl who was beaten and neglected and starved to death in England just feet away from a kitchen full of foodFlag

He gave us life and for all of us there will be or has been a time when we need him and he is the only one who can get us through the tough times. Let us acknowledge him and those who choose not to - learn to ignore it but don't take God from the rest of us.Flag

Name: MYRNA FERNANDEZ on Jan 12, 2003State: CACountry: USComments: I am all for this petition. As a child, I went to grammar school and remember saying the Pledge of Allegiance every morning in class, from Kindergarten to 6th grade. I believe that to not have the words, "Under God" is unconstitutional and immorally wrong. I have a daughter who is 11 years old. And she thinks that it feels weird saying the Pledge of Allegiance without the words, "Under God." She says to me, "Mommy, this is America and this shouldn't happen here. It just shouldn't and we need to resolve this problem." And she is right. So, America, let's stand up and give all that we got, and fix this. If we don't do fix this, no one else will. Thank you and May God Bless AmericaFlag
