Bobbi Jo Hart | I am a major Canadian women's soccer fan, and would so appreciate it if you would give Canadians more in-depth coverage of the team!
Lorne Webber |
| 3 | even pellerud | Great initiative. About time Canadian media starts to cover the major sport, and consider to tone down coverage of sports with minor participation numbers and limited international interest and competition level.

George Bennett | Better promotion of our women's team's accomplishments will attract more participation by our young girls and women which will cause a spiralling increase in our Country's talent and future achievements. Ninth today and higher tomorrow! Please give these ladies increased media coverage.

Robbie Hart | The Canadian women's national soccer team deserves to be more recognized and supported for all their incredible accomplishments by the media. Go Canada Go! All the way to Olympic Gold!
Thea Barnwell | I'm 13 years-old and these players are so inspirational to me about living your dreams no matter what. They don't play for millions of dollars, but because they love it! Please give me more to watch, because girls deserve to see each other on tv and in newspapers too!
Irene Angelico |
Max Barnwell | This team deserves better media coverage. I mean, come on, they are going to the Olympics!!!
Amanda McCulloch | I am a huge fan of Canadian womens' soccer. When the U19s were held in Edmonton, it finally gave me a chance to see all my favourite players in action. The womens' program has been so successful and all Canadians need to recognize that. I religiously follow the Canadian team and the only place I could watch CONCACAF qualifying was on the internet. I have over 900 channels and not one of them showed the game. I was fortunate to get to watch the team play on Canadian soil, that was back in 2002. Being from Ontario and the team not playing on Canadian turf in two years makes watching the team on television very important.

Janette Lyons | Am so so disappointed I had to go to a bar to see the Olympic qualifying game for the Canadian Woman's Soccer CONCACAF tournament
Lisa Smith | Go Canadian Women's National Soccer Team, and women's soccer worldwide!
Jeremie James Faille Lebeau Jr. IV |
Pat Pitsula | The media coverage from The Province consisted of one paragraph in a box buried in the Sports Pages. To boot, it was critical of the coach of the national women's soccer team! No mention at all of the feat of qualifiying for the Olympics for the first time in 25 years.
Anonymous | here in Canada, we do not get a lot of women's coverage at all, and i would love to see semi-prof from us and even canada play as well as proffessional level.

Vans T | Women Soccer in Canada is more successful than en soccer and yet Canada Soccer is still prejudicial against Women Soccer. This petition should be to sue Canada Soccer for discrimination

Anonymous | Thanks for acknowledging Women's Sports on par with Men's sport.
karina leblanc |
Michelle McGillivray | Couldn't believe i had to read a play by play on a u.s website in order to know how the CONCACAF final against the u.s was playing out...tho i'm glad i had that at least! What a game to have missed watching...these girls are in it for the love of the sport, not the money...cuz i know they don't get much!!! (My niece is on the team) Let's give them a whole lotta recognition and the support they truly deserve! Absolutely blows my mind that the Province newspaper can do two full pages about high school sports, (not that i'm against coverage there...congrats to them)...yet nothing about our national team qualifying for the olympics...SAD! At least the Vancouver Sun gave them some decent coverage...i will never buy the Province again!...well...unless this petition works and they start covering our girls! Cheers to everyone here...and Bobbi Jo....thanks for trying to do something about it. I hope with all my heart that it works!!!! CANADIAN GIRLS KICK ASS!!!!!!

Anonymous | It is absolutely ridiculous that the coverage for the women's soccer Olympic Qualifying tournament was slim to none. How can you not cover these amazing women.
nicole Kofidis |
Suzanne Woeller |
Justine Frazee | This morning on the front page of the Globe and Mail Newspaper wa the headline "A weekend of mastery " regarding sucesses in golf, hockey and curling. What a perfect opportunity to acknowledge the womens' success in soccer. Opportunity wasted!

Diana Colon | Yes, finally
Al Ezaki |
| 48 | Val Fowler | Yes, media coverage is terrible when it comes to all womens sports but soccer is the biggest growing sport in the country.
The women's national soccer team are fabulous role models and are deserving of our respect and support.
I would love to be able to watch their climb on the world stage on PRIME time television. |

Judy Russell | I am a physiotherapist and was with the team in Mexico. It was a very exciting time to be with a remarkable group of young women as they fought for an Olympic berth. Their fantastic stand against Mexico and 22,000 fans was worthy of all the praise laid upon them, but it was little or barely noticeable in most print media. Even more oustanding was the game they played against the formidable USA team. They lost in a shoot out, but in my mind they were winners. They played with heart, composure and fortitude. Believe me there was nothing left at the end of the game in any of us. The fact that the CBC didnot continue to cover it is disgusting. This is a team making history and should be treated to numerous accolades and passionate reporting. They have dedicated the last two years of their lives to full time soccer so that they might represent our country at sports premier event. The obscure sidebar comments at the back of the sports page is not nearly enough. Shame on you in the media.
