Name: Dawn McIntyre on Jul 23, 2008Comments: It would be a shame that the people of Niagara have to suffer the loss of our Maternity ward due to the fact that those who have been in charge of the Niagara Health system have mismanaged funds over the years. We have suffered the impact of a cut back to nursing staff and Doctors and have had to wait forever for MRI appointments etc. and now you are asking us to give up our Maternity ward. I am sure that those in charge would not be willing to give up any of their paycheques or raises in order to support our system. How about those involved just cut back on sushi instead of health careFlag

Name: Margaret Germano on Jul 23, 2008Comments: I feel very strongly that the Maternity ward should remain in Niagara Falls, My children were born there as were my grandchildren. What if there is a life or death situation or for that matter how about the millions of visitors that we have each year that are not familiar with the area and there is an emergency.Flag

Name: George McDermott on Jul 23, 2008Comments: My grandson was just recently born in Niagara Falls because we no longer have a maternity ward in Fort Erie, and now they want to move it to St.Catherines The NHS has recycled old ideas that were rebuffed by the taxpayers years ago and will continue to be rebuffed.Flag

They cannot close this ward down it is just too improtant to mothers and their babies who are pregnant or have already delivered there.Flag

Name: Liz Jansen on Jul 23, 2008Comments: I fully believe a community as large as Niagara Falls needs its own maternity ward. It is absolutely insane to think women in labour is this city must drive to the OTHER side of St. Catharines to deliver a baby...sometimes there is not enough time for that! Babies born on the highway!! NOT a good idea.Flag
