On November 7, 2008, the U.S. District Court in Seattle granted final approval of a class action settlement for owners and lessees of certain 2003 to 2005 General Motors vehicles with allegedly defective speedometers (also known as “console clusters”). General Motors (GM) agreed to replace the defective cluster in the speedometer if you had less than 80,000 miles on your vehicle. If you have more than 80,000 miles when your defective cluster breaks then GM says it is your responsibility to replace their defective cluster using your own money. GM refused to provide any financial assistance to repair the cluster. Tell GM to stand behind their products instead of dumping their defective products on us. I think when you pay $25,000+ for a vehicle you have earned the right to have all the products in/on the vehicle to be defective free.
