Name: Patricia Barber on Mar 1, 2010Comments: I've been complaining for years. Strong Family support is a very important part of rehabilitation, and with these high costs, it causes undu and extreme mental anguish on families that are already suffering a loss of a family member. They also are being affected with the loss of financial support from the one now incarcerated. These families are actually by these rediculiously high charges, bad service, and uncaring ears, being punished. Financially. If this petition doesn't get their attention I think you, all of us, have the makes of a civil lawsuit.Flag

Name: Darel Moss on Mar 2, 2010Comments: In addition to the above the basic phone charges are outrageous. This phone company should be investigated from top and bottom and so should any local, state, and federal official who has agreed to give them the contract. The prison population is statistically of lower income and they are forced to pay charges that dwarf carriers outside of prison. This is scam and speaks to a prison system that is failing with a recedivisism rate of 80%.Flag

Name: Deborah Blacklin on Mar 2, 2010Comments: I am sick and tired of things that are affecting me because my son is an inmate! He has had things stolen that I have paid for and have had to replace out of my hard earned money, and now this. It's me, an honest American taxpayer, I've worked since I was 14, I am a college graduate and I've never once been arrested or have I ever been in one bit of trouble with 'the law', but because my child has, I am being punished, and I'm sick of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Flag

Name: Marylinda Swanson on Mar 4, 2010Comments: Gobal Tel Link is the biggest joke anyone has to deal with. You can call them if you are lucky to talk to someone that is not a machine. But if you call them and talk to different people you will get a different answer everytime. I wish we can just go back to get the phone calls from our phone company instead.Flag

Name: Anonymous on Mar 13, 2010Comments: I was just notified by a rude boy at GTL that they are no longer billing thru TEC ,my telephone provider and I would either buy a prepaid card or no longer talk to my son in prison. He was arrogant when I told him this is the third time they have pulled this crap and it is extortion, when I pay my bill and my phone company said as long as I pay there is no block on my phone for collect calls from my s,on. I told him I was going to contact the Fcc he said go ahead, unless I buy a prepaid card I will not be allowed to talk to my son. I know he is lying about no longer billing thru my phone company because my son calls someone else right now under the same company and his calls go thru. Also do you know that they listen in on calls? This is against the law and I never knew they did this and unless notified by them that they are doing this or if they have a court order it is unlawful11 CAN ANYONE HELP US! Not everyone in prison wants to be there or stay as some of them do.They have learned thier lesson and want to come home and be productive. This is a monopoly and extortion.Wonder what big name mucky muck has ownership in this Mobile Alabama extortion scam company.Flag
