I believe that it should be the right of a homeowner in Glencoe to keep a limited number of chickens in their backyard. I understand that the Village of Glencoe would ensure that anyone choosing to keep backyard chickens would do so in a way that is safe, aesthetic, hygienic, and would pose no nuisance to neighbors in any way.

I moved to Glencoe with my family from the city, in August. I went to the Village to ask about chickens and bees, and was told no to the former and yes to the latter (strangely.) I was introduced to your blog through my Glencoe friend Jennifer Adler, and would very much like to ruffle some feathers here in Glencoe (pun totally intended!) Please let me know how I can help to get this moving forward.

I really dont see the big deal. If you keep it clean there is no smell. Some people just like to complain about everything.

My kids would love to learn where eggs come from. Its crazy that we can have dogs but not a few quiet chickens in the back.

We have tons of space in our yard and its going to waste. Fresh eggs would be great for the breakfast table.
