By signing this petition, I am hereby requesting that South Coast Air Quality Management District not grant a permit to The Source Group, for soil vapor extraction & treatment at 1501 Glenoaks Blvd. in Glendale (Chevron station) until an open & impartial meeting is held by the city of Glendale to discuss this procedure with concerned neighboring communities. Meeting should discuss the soil extraction procedures and health risks in detail (in layman's terms (for which AQMD has received a request for permit, and should also include discussion of other viable options, with an emphasis placed on safer and quicker alternatives.

After residents have been properly informed/ educated, the community should then be given the opportunity to choose the best available method for this clean-up.

Petition sponsor

I am a concerned citizen of Glendale, and it is my first time ever organizing a petition of any kind. I felt that the people of Glendale deserve better, and we are not going to get it unless we ask.
I was particularly moved to organize this effort, when I learned that there were 2 (elementary & nursery) schools in such close proximity of the project.
