This petition has been started jointly by Living Lamma and Green Glass.Living Lamma is a local NGO run entirely by volunteers who want to improve Lamma's environment and design of public spaces. Green Glass is an organisation funded by the Environmental Conservation Fund of the Hong Kong Environmental Protection Department (EPD).Living Lamma has been lobbying government for better waste management facilities on Lamma Island. The connection with Green Glass came about after meeting with Anissa Wong, Secretary for Environmental Protection, EPD in May 2009. In that meeting, Living Lamma raised the issue of the dumping of construction waste on agricultural land on Lamma, which has become more prevalent since the government introduced charging for the disposal of construction waste.
