Comments: I feel that the government should not put stipulations on rules of whether your straight or gay to adopt a child. They should be thankful that their are people out there that want to participate in a childs life. The government obviously does a shitty job at taking care of foster children.

Comments: There are laws allowing substance abusers to adopt children, but not homosexual couples. So, it's okay if a parent passes out on top of their child and suffocates him ore her, but God forbid the child see a man kiss another man.

Comments: I think there should be rights for gays and Lesbians to adopt we are just the same as straight people and its not like wed hurt the kids. Its not a selfish thought for a mother or father to want a daughter/son.

Comments: This discrimination is absurd and as backward thinking as the banning of women to vote, and thoughts of the african american as kin to the apes. Prospective parents should be evaluated on their ability and fitness as parents in general as all should be, not soley on their sexual orientation.

Comments: As a child of the foster system and adoption I think that as long as we have an over-abundant amount of children that are in the foster-care system, homosexuals should have the right to adopt as long as they have a clean record and they honestly do have the best interest at heart for their children.

Comments: It is despicable that in the year 2003, with exorbitant numbers of children that need homes, homosexual human beings are not permitted to adopt. It is disgusting. As a straight female, I wholeheartedly support the notion of gay adoption. Let's forge our way into the new century by implementing some rational policies allowing homosexual couples to adopt the increasing numbers of children in need of homes.

Comments: Who is to say that a two gender family is in teh childs best interests. Admitidly homosexual famlies may prove to be more socialy stigmatizing that heterosexual famlies, but a similat point could be made bout mixed-race famlies but it isnt. In flordia gay coulples are alloweed to pour out theu blood sweet and tears foster raising these hard to place kids. but its illegal to allow them to perminantly adopt. standard needs to change. Of courcegays and lesbians should be allowed legal adoption!

Comments: I want to say that I am not gay, This should mean even more . I believe that all human beings have the right to live anyway they want to as long as they don't hurt anyone .. and for any 2 people who love each other and want to raise a family together is the most wonderful and beautiful thing... No matter what sex they are ... and they should also be able to marry and recieve all the benifits too ... but that is probably another petition...
