The Greater Jackson Arts Council (GJAC) is currently in negotiations with The City of Jackson to take over the management lease of The Arts Center of MS building. Negotiations have stalled and we need your help! GJAC would like to manage the building in order to improve the quality of life and events for all the tenants. GJAC plans to purchase and manage online software which will allow all tenants to immediately see the calendar of events for The Arts Center and request their own dates for events in the building. Upon receiving management rights for The Arts Center building, GJAC plans to make upgrades to the building that include, but are not limited to: converting the upstairs kitchen to a professional catering kitchen, adding hot water throughout the building, new carpet in the Galleries, ceiling repair, floor and ceiling repair in the rehearsal hall, Atrium floor repair, Audio/Video equipment in the Upper Atrium and Community Room, and a built in security station that will enhance services and lobby appearance. Future upgrades include but are not limited to the purchase of tables and chairs for all tenants to use, new outside lighting, art enhancements to the sculpture garden and wall on Pascagoula,and aesthetic upgrades to the outside of the building. Our mission is to provide a beautiful space in which all tenants will enjoy working and playing in, and one in which they will feel supported and encouraged as they conduct business in the building.
