Denise Merrifield | We should not ask teachers to do the impossible or something that we would not be able to do. To teach to a class to large in size places an unnatural burden on the teacher and cheats them of success in the classroom. Not to mention the students who suffer by not getting one on one attention which every human being needs to flourish.

Karen Harbold | Smaller class size is especially important in the core classes like math, english & science.
J Stockdale | As a substitute I see the need for smaller classroom sizes in the lower grades. Especially Kindergarten when the children need much more of the teachers attention.

Anonymous | The class sizes need to change. Too many children are not getting the attention that they need because the teachers are busy doing crowd control.

Rebecca Hutchins | We need smaller classes! We need smaller schools! My daughter currently attends the largest elementary school in the state. We have 1,740 students! That's bigger than many high schools. Please help!!
Jane N. Daniels | I have moved some of my children to a Charter School because of the class size and the learning environment that occurs in a smaller class.
Angi Christensen | Yes...Please reduce class sizes so that our kids have more one-on-one time with teachers.

Polly Sheffield | I am a pediatrician who strongly advocates for control of class size. It is well established that large class size adversely affects the education of children.

Amy Geyerman | children learn better with more one-on-one time with their teacher. Reducing class time will help with that.
Becky Hoth | We need smaller class sizes, especially with all the different levels of learning that each child is at.
Paige Crawley | My kids have been in ridiculously sized classes. Something needs to be done about it soon. I imagine the biggest reason for people who take their kids out of public schools is class sizes that are too big. Please make this a priority.
Camille Hendricks | I hope that this is the year that this can be made a higher priority and have passed in the next session. If you go and visit a classroom that has 25- 30 students and then a classroom that has 15-20 students you can see the difference in the ability for a teacher to maintain the attention of their students, and the opportunites for one on one time are greatly increased. We owe it to our children's future to allow them to have the best education.

Jamie Nettesheim | My son had 33 kids in his 3rd grade class this year. I feel like he got a little neglected and fell behind because he's not one of the smartest and the teacher couldn't pay enough attention to each child. 33 is way too many per class! 25 is too many also! We need smaller classes.
Anonymous | My child' s Kindergarten class has 30 children currently in the classroom; which is way too many for a good learning environment. It's also not good for our teachers. My niece started her teaching experience about 3 years ago and was faced with the same situation in the primary grades as a specialized teacher - after one year, one reason she did not want to continue to teach was because of the class size. Please let's make the class sizes smaller!

Michelle Whitchurch | I have volunteered weekly in each of my children's kindergarten classes, so far (I have 5 kids, 4 are in school). The classes have had at least 25 students, which is too many for one teacher alone, no matter how excellent a teacher we may have had. With volunteers to help with reading, class project preparation, testing perparation, etc., the class-size burden is minimized, but not eliminated. When parents (and others) are available (and willing) to volunteer, especially in kindergarten, it can help teachers a lot. However, finding a way to decrease class sizes, especially for kindergarten and younger grades would really be beneficial to teachers for both group class work and individualized help to students. Please do all you can to help to decrease/lower class sizes. Thanks!
