| 552 | Andrea Gibson | We need smaller class sizes in all grades, especially K-6. This would allow for more one on one time for each student with teacher and allow students to blossom and learn in a more comfortable environment |

| 556 | Natalie Harvey | Absoluteley, smaller class sizes will benefit our children. My son is in a class of 32 and he is lost so many times in the shuffle of kids. |

| 559 | Deb Grant | Dear Legislators:
I am a school tutor with the Granite School District and am always amazed that with a class size of 30+ ANY teaching of that many at once is effective! I would be HAPPY to be out of a job because they no longer need us to try to fill in when students begin to fall through the cracks, and a decrease in class size would be a step in that direction!
Our class sizes are one of the highest in the nation with teacher salaries the 2nd lowest, what's wrong with this picture? THEN we have the temerity to TEST, not twice a year, but 4-6 times and expect the teachers to get ANYthing done. We are crippling ourselves in the GREAT State of Utah and I am truly sad to see the direction things are going. Get the class sizes down, the salaries up, and the amount of testing down so we have a chance to teach your children anything! Please help us! |

| 569 | Angie Dibble | The class sizes at our elementary school are very very large. The teachers have to use microphones since their are so many students. Most classes are between 25-28 children. How is that managable or productive. I strongly support smaller classes-but it would have to affect all schools!! |

| 582 | Natalie Monson | Large classes make it difficult for teachers to grade and therefore assign the amount of homework that the majority of students need to understand the study habits needed for college. |

| 587 | Racquel Augat | Lower class size is imperative for a quality education for children. Teachers too are frustrated and give less quality lessons and get less control and respect. Please do something NOW! Before my children have to grow up in the middle of this chaotic battle. |
| 588 | JULIE HOLMES | MY SON IS IN 5TH GRADE AT MIDAS CREEK ELEMENTARY IN RIVERTON. THERE ARE 34 KIDS IN HIS CLASS. THAT IS RIDICULOUS. HOW IS HE SUPPOSED TO GET ONE ON ONE ATTENTION THAT IS SO VITAL AT HIS AGE? WHAT I DON'T UNDERSTAND IS, HOW ARE THE CHARTER SCHOOLS ABLE TO KEEP CLASS SIZES THE 20 -25 KIDS PER CLASS, BUT IF YOU ARE IN A PUBLIC SCHOOL YOU ARE OVERCROWEDED? ISN'T THE FUNDING THE SAME? I THINK WE CAN LEARN SOMETHING FROM THESE PEOPLE THAT ARE RUNNING CHARTER SCHOOLS. PARENTS THAT HAVE KIDS IN CHARTER SCHOOLS ARE EXTREMELY IMPRESSED WITH THE CLASS SIZE, EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE AND INDIVIDUAL ATTENTION THEIR KIDS ARE GETTING. WHY ARE MY CHILDREN NOT GETTING THE SAME ATTENTION. I PAY JUST AS MANY TAXES AS THOSE PARENTS. SOMETHING WITHIN THIS SYSTEM STINKS. WE NEED TO TAKE THE POLITICS OUT OF THIS ISSUE AND THINK OF THESE KIDS FIRST. AFTER ALL, THEY ARE OUR FUTURE!

| 590 | Chelle Brain | The sixth grade class at my children's school peaked at 37 children this year. We need change. Our children deserve better. |
| 591 | Helen Mulder | As a high school teacher for 30 years, I can truly testify that smaller classes provide superior learning opportunities for all students. |
| 592 | Lisa Ertel | We desperately need smaller classes -- and a new school -- in our area (Riverton/Herriman). Our school is adding 2 more portable classrooms to the 8 or 9 already on the playground. Jordan School District is currently in process of splitting, I feel, in large part because of classroom size. The east side of the district had smaller class sizes, but it wasn't an efficient use of money, when the west side so desperately needed schools. It has now created a mess with the transitioning process. If all classrooms, no matter the "side" of the valley or state, had smaller classrooms, issues like this may be avoided in the future. Please see that any money appropriated goes directly to this cause -- and not caught up in district politics. |

| 594 | Carey Stratford | We are in desperate need of class size reductions in order for our students to get the best education possible. There are way too many students in each class for the teacher to be able to reach each individual student with the help they may need. |
