There was once a time when "quaint" was not a dirty word, where a gnome had an affectionate pride of place in any Australian Garden. I regret to inform you that thanks to the populist reactive nature of the Melbourne Flower and Garden Show it seems now that our little friends are now considered gnomis-non-grata. The Melbourne International Garden Show will be held this year in the Exhibition Gardens from March 28 till April 1st. It now ranks amoungst the UK's Chelsea and Singapore's Garden Shows as being one of the worlds most prestigious. This year we were cresfallen to find out that the powers that be at Melbourne's Flower and Garden Show have decided to follow Chelsea Garden Show's BAN OF GARDEN GNOMES FROM ALL DISPLAYS!!! It's seems that gnomes are now deemed tacky, a vehicle for juvinile pranks rather than a time honoured, longwithstanding gardening tradition that dates back hundreds of years. Get behind our cause.
