Name: Veronica Mclaren on Feb 22, 2013Comments: I have been using this car park safely for 30 years. The original ditch could have been excavated without destroying the car parking area. The action taken is authoritarian and mean spirited and seems to have no valid justification. Safety is a spurious excuse and Setley plain has survived at least 30 years with this car park in use. How have the circumstances changed?Flag

It is a lovely spot and I always look out for the ponies and cattle to make sure they are ok and remove the odd bottle left near the car park. Please do not spoil out enjoyment of the beautiful New ForestFlag

Name: Vanessa Hutton on Feb 22, 2013Comments: I am so glad someone is doing something to make this go PUBLIC. I am furious as I go here regularly to walk my 2 dogs. I will continue to park ON THE ROAD, which is dangerous when getting 2 dogs out of the back of my car, and with a bad back I am struggling to negotiate "the ditch". I am thinking of bringing a plank with me so I can step over it without injuring my back any further!!! I am absolutely livid.Flag

I have been using this area for at least twenty-five years and there has been no encroachment into the forest land.Flag

Name: Jo Ware on Feb 23, 2013Comments: I walk my dogs in the forest most days, but have to keep them both on leads as one is very reactive to other dogs and one will chase wildlife. I have always tried to avoid the main carparks as it is safer to get Harry out of the car where there are no other dogs. Not only has this facility now been denied to me along all local routes, but what a mess the forest looks where the ditches have been dug, and how dangerous it is when you try to walk / jump across the ditches.Flag

Name: Bob Baker on Feb 23, 2013Comments: Typical waste of public money by FC and NFNPA, similar to the stream diversion projects, and the arbitrary fencing off of areas of forest for rather pointless experiments. All these things spoil the Forest for users, but presumably provide more jobs and kudos for more well paid bureaucrats! Much better to spend the money on basic things like fixing up all the ruined car parks and forest paths!Flag
