It is common knowledge that horror films exist to give people a thrill. That's why they watch it; these people choose to be scared. Upon seeing a particularly heart-thumping trailer, they may turn to their companions and excitedly say, "Let's watch that when it comes out!"

How about a thought to the people who don't watch horror films? Do they have to go through the same heart-thumping sensations for a film they have absolutely zero desire to see?

This petition is simple: give warning before showing a horror trailer.

Some may argue that this would take out the fun and excitement of the trailer, but it the trailer is done well enough, it should still have the same effect without needing to scar those of faint heart.

A little consideration and kindness is all I ask of you.

Fans of the horror genre would probably not think this petition of much importance, but please imagine this for a bit:

There are people in the world who are absolutely terrified of such things. They may be young or they may be old, but suddenly showing something like that can leave them in almost tears from fear. Can you imagine the life of someone who could have days or weeks of nightmares from seeing just 2 seconds of a scary face? Or a haunting melody? Or a sudden twist that involves something in their daily lives--- like having a neighbor knock on your wall? There was a trailer like that recently.

A little warning is all I ask, and I'm not talking about PG13 or R ratings, those are too broad and do not specify that it's going to be of the horror genre. Flash maybe 2 seconds of 'Genre: H' on the screen to give a hint. It will give the faint of heart time to prepare for the upcoming scenes; maybe close their eyes or cover their ears before the frightening parts start.

Thank you.
