Give America Back to the Natives
"The wars we've called history to be proud of
They are just trouble and bloody changes...
Something that is so cruel and mean
And the bloody changes
We still haven't given land back to our friends
Mercy, mercy, why didn't we hear it?
We should be siblings
Will you take me as I am?
Rude and always trying to be rulers
And the streets are full of strangers
What happened to Indian chiefs?
And the streets are full of strangers
and we've got no friends...
no day came to make us see that...
..we still haven't given land back to our friends
Mercy, mercy, why didn't we hear it?
We should be siblings
Will you take me as I am?"
The song's right, actually. We still haven't given land [America] back to our friends [Native American Indian tribes.] And we should. How'd you feel if your land was taken from you? Just think. For once in your life. How'd you feel if someone took something from you? And one day I'll die; and I want to die knowing that my people have their rights back.
