Introduce legislation making it law for ER's to give methadone or suboxone to opiate addicts in withdrawal after urine test indicates positive for morphine. Refer them to methadone clinic or suboxone doctor's in the area. Make Methadone more accessible for addicts in programs so they can have take home doses. Methadone saves lives and keeps people off heroin. It should be easier for addicts to get it not expensive or forced to drive 45 minutes a day or across states to get it. Allow addicts to register with the Government who live in states who refuse to have clinics built and pay the medications cost and mail the person the methadone after they send in a medical evaluation report that they are healthy. Make it law to prescribe cocaine addicts amphetamines, the relapse rate for cocaine addiction is so high and expensive can save there lives if have programs where they maintain them on adderal type drugs. End the massive waiting times addicted veterans have to wait to get into methadone or suboxone programs within the VA. Many veterans wait months while unable to stop using during this time and increasing there risk of getting HIV, arrested, hepatitis or TB and overdosing. After a veteran is screened they should have a medical evaluation only done and then rushed into the program to save there lives. Instead of forcing them to go to get TB tests, HIV, chest x rays which take weeks most often to get done. They can be done after they are in the program as there lives are more important then the tests.
