January 3, 2012, The Record newspaper reported that police in Franklin Lakes and Wyckoff have charged a 14 year old girl with making terroristic threats against Ramapo High School. Superintendent of Ramapo and Indian Hills High Schools, C. Lauren Schoen, addressed the incident in an email to faculty, staff, and community members claiming, "the district took appropriate action in an attempt to ensure the greatest degree safety and securtity of our students, faculty, and staff." The teen asked for help (via facebook) in attacking Ramapo High School. The girl is now being allowed to attend Indian Hills High School. The undersigned are against the girl being allowed to attend Indian Hills HS. We feel Indian Hills, being so closely related to Ramapo, is not far enough to avoid further terroristic threats. Dr. Schoen is only ensuring the greatest degree of safety for Ramapo students, not Indian Hills students. The girl needs to be moved out of our district.
