Roger Pountain | Another disgraceful collaboration between commercial interests and public authorities by the sound of it.
Jacqueline Dennett | This would be a great loss not only as an archaeological and historic site but also for the beauty the people who live in the area and the many who visit enjoy.
Iain McKenna | Historically significant and a beautiful recreation area - don't let the quarriers spoil it.
Anonymous | Such a significant prehistoric and historic site should be preserved for the future generations
Dave Lee | Gillies Hill is a wonderful place for a quiet walk. It is outrageous to think it may be turned into a quarry!

Phil Olson | Too many easily accessible rock sites are being blasted and carried away. Scotland may have a good few such hard rock sites but we cannot watch these disappear piecemeal lest our landscape comes to look plain, downright worn out.
Mo Kelly | We are moving to the Stirling area next month, it's a beautiful place and we're looking forward to living there. I would hate to think that this area of natural beauty and major historical importance is going to be destroyed when it should be saved. We must do all we can to save it.
William McGrath | Our Heritage is more important than profits which will be long spent whilst the destruction of this site will remain forever
Joseph Giovanacci | As a resident of Torbrex I have a panoramic view of Gllies Hill and appreciate the historic significance to the Battle of Bannockburn. Furthermore the woodland is a habitat for increasingly rare Scottish wildlife and this is ever more important with the increasing urban sprawl that is modern day Stirling.
Sandor Szarvas | I have walked many times on this hill with my children. Also the view from Sauchie Craigs would be destroyed. Stop environmental vandalism! Issue an ASBO to Tarmac & Hanson!
Audrey Hamilton |
michael | the destruction of so much of scotlands history has gone on too long, we have our government and we now want our history
David Gillies | Scots died to save our nation in 1314. This historic site must remain for posterity. Their sacrifice must never be forgotten!

Andrew Moore | What a shame the dollar wins out over common sense.
Dr Bethany Haller-Moore | Do the officials know who appointed them and pay their salaries, the taxpayers and voters or the BIG business ?
Roddie McKenzie |
Scott Ferguson | Spent many a fine weekend around those woods as a youngster and know it is still well used today. So for the impact on the environment, the heritage and our enjoyment, hands-off I say.
Duncan Fenton | This must be stopped. We cannot allow large companies to ride roughshod over the will of the people.
margie dowell | save it, leave it alone.
Anonymous | save it, leave it alone.
Jonathan Sharp | Stirling Council should be utterley ashamed. I cannot believe there is nothing they can do about this.

margaret loosley | stirling council should be ashamed of themselves for letting this sort of thing from happening.let us turn it around to benefit the children and teach them the wonders of our history and about wildlife.
justin loosley | I grew up playing in these woods with most of my friends. I have learned so much from it, being dyslexic it helped me to understand how plants and animals grow and fend for themselves. Im now a gardener. Leave gilles hill alone
david loosley | Dont destroy this land of beauty. Get a grip stirling council. Dont take away the only good thing left in this city.

| 444 | Mark Hale | This is far too nice an area, which is right on our doorstep, to destroy.
Please keep it for ourselves and our future generations to enjoy!! |
Anna Low |
Stuart Cox |
Jacqui Sharp |
