Niall Tracey | Not only an important historical and environmental site, but an integral part of the view from Stirling Castle. Enough damage has been done -- let's save what's left.
John McNeill | Hills should be left in place.
WILLIAM ALLAN |
Carl Genese | I now live in Shropshire, but lived in Cambusbarron between 1975 and 1985. I am married to a Bannockburn girl and when I visit I drink in the 1314 Inn, which is not bad for an Englishman!!!
robert brown | i hope the site is saved for future generations, it is historical not only for scotland but for stirling and surrounding areas

andrew macleod | the quarry should not expand any further than it already has for the environments, the communities and for gillies hill itself

David H P Kelling | This is a delightful beauty spot consisting of unusually mixed natural woodland which MUST be retained for the amenity and welfare of the local community
V. Cannon |
David Rowlands | There is far too much of the neglect and trashing of historic sites, especially battlefields, in England and Scotland. Big business should not be allowed to destroy forever our heritage.
Harry Kerridge | I agree with the Cambusbarron Community Council's fears that the proposed extension of quarrying at this location would permanently destroy an amenity of significant wildlife and historic interest and potential, to the detrriment of the citizens of Stirling

John Billingsley | Please leave hills where they are! Especially those of such local significance.
Sheila A Miller | This is of great importance not just locally but to the Nation on a variety of issues.

Paul Stahl | As the 21st Great Grandson of King Robert The Bruce, I object wholeheartedly to the expansion of quarrying at Gillies Hill on the grounds that it will destroy a historically significant site and threaten the overall environment and ecosystem.

| 590 | I have a great admiration for King Robert the Bruce
and consider that Gilles Hill Cambusbarron is indeed a national asset. It should be protected as part of the scottish "patrimoine". I appeal to the legal authorities that the site be fully protected. |

I Frame | Government and politicians are only interested in two things, revenue and keeping people in employment. No doubt tarmac offers both in some way shape or form. The only way to stop this from happening is to convince goverment and politicians that the reopening of this quarry will cost more £££££ than it will generate £££££. Good luck with the protest, the hill is awe inspiring and I wish my house looked onto it.

Richard and Ann Drake | There will be no future left for future generations. Greed, greed, greed

lewis byron | I think that it should be preserved for future generations to enjoy.
Hamish McCool | Gillies Hill is a very valuable asset, not just to the local community but also those, like myself, who visit from outside Stirlingshire. The destruction of this would be a terrible thing indeed.
