| 501 | Susan Campbell | This proposed development will have a huge environmental impact not only on the area being quarred but also the surrounding area where these heavy vehicles will be transporting the stone.
This is yet another example of how local government 'consult' with the electorate and then do what they have planned anyway. |
Colin Campbell | I feel this development would destroy a significant historic site.
Andy Cloquet | Re-activating this old quarry is possibly a ploy by the company concerned to arouse much public consternation which they respond to at the last moment by withdrawing but demanding adequate compensation to re-linquish their 'rights'.

keith grant | This is an important area in terms of heritage and local recreation.
Kevin Scullion | Went for a look myself today and spent an hour or so wandering through the woods. A lovely place in it's own right and given the history, wildlife and current recreational use, well worth saving.
Pam Gregory | We live in Cambusbarron and regularly walk and enjoy Gillies Hill in all seasons. I want my daughter to be able to do the same for years to come.

Roddy Wallwork | Countless man hours have gone into Cambusbarron Quarry. in the woods i met some of the best people. Rode some of the best trails. And had the best time. It would be criminal to flatten Gillies Hill. Please don't do it.

Graeme Thurston | This area must be saved, think of all the wildlife habitat that will be lost forever.
ben richardson | This kind of area is a grassroots supply for the future Scottish Champions of mountainbiking we must fight to save areas like this to promote sport and activie for all. I commend everyone involved with its building and was lucky enuogh to ride with Gus and his friends recently. Without who I wuold not have been able to do the biggest jump of my life. Sill wearing the grin from a great days riding.

Lindy Taylor | Myself and a friend were in a dangerous position one day when a lorry from the tarmac quarry came round a corner on the small rural road. We were on horse back and it was really scary. We will have to stop riding that road altogether if the quarry starts to have more vehicles on it. We will probably have to stop riding in that whole area if there is blasting. Its just going to ruin the whole area.

Lesley Jackson | where I live in Wales, I look out at once was a beautiful mountain, which looked 'pregnant' with a huge bump to the one side, where one of the largest iron age forts once looked out over the land... it has been COMPLETELY quarried away!!!! The rape of natural resorces for moneitary gain MUST stop! SAVE GILLES HILL and all the flora and fawna, history and sacred sites for our children and their children before its too late!!!
