| 1 | Stewart Marshall | Stop the destruction of our environment – listen to our communities |
| 2 | Jeananne Graham | Perhaps we should try to find out exactly how much money Hanson and Tarmac contribute to the political parties which our esteemed local councilors are members of. Perhaps this has some bearing on their position that - nothing can be done! |

| 6 | Lynda Sharp | This must be saved. It is an area of natural beauty. As a child we had many an adventure up the woods what right have we to deny future generations of this opportunity |
| 7 | Matthew Strutt | |
| 8 | Douglas Farquhar | 700 years on from Bannockburn and we're still fighting to save our land from foreign invaders. |
| 9 | Brian Paterson | |
| 10 | Gavin Allan | |
| 11 | RONALD J. GRAHAM | THIS THREAT OF RE-OPENING THE QUARRY HAS GALVANISED THE COMMUNITY IN TO ACTION.
IT HAS BROUGHT OLD AND NEW MEMBERS OF THE AREA TOGETHER WITH ONE PURPOSE TO SAVE A LOCAL ASSET WHICH BY HISTORICAL CHANCE IS A NATIONAL ASSET.
PLEASE DON,T DESTROY WHERE MY CHILDREN WILL PLAY IN SAFETY. |

| 14 | Russell MacLeod Middleton | Nearly seven centuries ago my ancestors, lead by The Bruce himself, swept down from Gillies Hill in to an army, four times as large, lead by Edward II. "The subsequent slaughter was immense, and many of those who survived the wrath of the Scots perished in the Bannock Burn and the morasses beyond."
How sad, after all this time, that the sassanachs still jealously covet the hills of Scotland. In the past the Scots have been described as great stalwart hirsute men, shaggy, uncultured and wild who had extensive and intimate knowledge of the country, endurance, an ability to face great hardship, resource, enterprise, good judgement, honesty and reliability. If the sassanachs are under the illusion that we Scots have been domesticated over the ensuing twenty generations into cowering subservient peasants, let them go homeward, Tae think again.
I now live at the foot of that hill facing the fields of Bannockburn. Wha daur meddle wi' me?

| 16 | Arline Brisbane | I think the Quarry site and around could be a Country Park for everyone to enjoy. This is going to spoil the ecology and the environment. |
| 17 | Robert Hunter | I agree with Arline Brisbane , "Gillies Hill" preserved in a country park .
A much nicer idea than the destruction of Scotland`s heritage . |

| 20 | Jackie O'Neil | Although I know longer live in the village I would hate to see any more of the hill being quarried and the local woodland destroyed where we had so much fun. Many of my friends currently enjoy cycling and climbing at Cambusbarron. It would be such a pity to see this fantastic location for recreation be destroyed. |
| 21 | Paolo Pigni | We all must be grateful to Scotland for being the "keeper of the flame" for centuries . Please do NOT spoil such an historical place...if we keep on destroying the past there will be NO future fo us all. |

| 30 | Mike Graham | As conveneor of the community group named in the petition could I please ask that the text be corrected in the petition to make it plain that Gillies Hill is under threat by quarry operators - not by the community group !
The text in para two of the petition currently states Gilles Hill Cambusbarron, determined by many as a National Heritage, is under threat by "Murrayshall Quarry Liaison Group" - Recognising the source of the text in the petition I think this reference should be changed to "Murrayshall Quarry proposals". |
| 31 | Mark Beeby | A disgrace.......some people have now sense of dignity or national pride. Was taken to the site many times as a wean - was planning on taking my wee one when she is old enough to understand.......Lets hope i can still do it |

| 33 | Elisabeth Doyle | Do not allow them to destroy the last remnant of the most important battle in Scotland's history. |

| 35 | Anonymous | This is an outrage, could only happen Scotland. |
| 36 | Martin McCrae | I have loved this place for many years so let it not be destroyed |
| 37 | iain dowell | everyone MUST do what they can to preserve this large part of our national heritage, the gillies hill played a very large part in our fight for independance some 700 years ago, now its our turn to return the favour and fight for the gillies hill, if we all do our bit however small then together we can WIN. |
| 38 | Walter Trotter | We must do our utmost to prevent this from happening. This should be an area that is preserved for several reasons including historical, environmental and natural heritage reasons.
There's a village close to my heart that sits on the same bedrock and above the same mine workings as this proposed quarrying project that will be changed irreversibly. |
| 39 | Anonymous | We need to review all aspects of this not just is the planning correct or the enviromental damage but from a safety aspect to adults and children who duyring the hot days like to enjoy walks and playing in the park but with 5 lorries in and then 5 out who will be there to ensure that children follow the rules of the road-green cross code. |

The local communitys needs should also be respected. |
