   Comments: Genie brings a humanity to the canvas that General Hospital has been sorely lacking lately. She can actually be the heart of the show and would make it possible to shift the focus back to the stories of the characters so many of us love - the Spencers, Sccorpios, Quartermaines & Cassidines.

   Comments: Genie Francis's recent return to General Hospital shows just how much she's been missed. Put aside the fact that she's part of the greatest love story soaps have ever known. Put aside the fact that she and Tony Geary are responsible for the highest ratings a daytime drama has ever achieved. Put aside the fact that as a teenager she helped SAVE General Hospital from cancellation. Just consider the fact that her innate warmth and empathic nature permeate the screen, giving the show it's heart again. While the mob characters are interesting and help give the show a certain edge, they need to be balanced with more empathic, warm, characters like Laura. (This dark/light contrast is part of the reason Luke and Laura have worked so well over the years. I.e. he's essentially amoral, but she gives him his heart - or as he put it in the 11/3 Friday episode - his soul. ) Bringing Genie Francis back as Laura is simply good drama for General Hospital. Also, consider the fact that General Hospital is BLEEDING viewers and many of these lapsed viewers have been loyal fans for years. This is particularly destructive since soap watching is often a multi-generational activity. That is, the older generation helps bring in the younger generation. As the most popular female character in GH history (and arguably the most popular female character in soaps ever), Laura Spencer as played by Genie Francis has the power to bring back these lapsed viewers. She's done it before (1983 and 1993) and appears to be doing it again if the current ratings are any indication. So bringing back Genie Francis just makes good BUSINESS sense. Genie Francis IS General Hospital. Please show her and the loyal GH fans respect by bringing this daytime legend back to the canvas again.

    Comments: there's no doubt that Genie may be the deciding factor for GH to be on top of all the soaps again. With her returning for a couple of weeks everyone will see why she's such a huge factor. The show needs her and us fans as well. I know there some out there who say that there issues around it. Yes there is but lets be hopeful that this petition can do something. We have the power of persuasion here, let's use because to my Genie is the answer right now for GH. Watching the last couple of episodes when Laura came back was soo magical for me, it was a million times better than watching Days or Y&R. So lets all unite and show the producers just how much Genie means to us and the show =) ...

I believe that their romance could spark many stories around them. Why can't the writers see this At this time in history, "Luke and Laura" are the center of GH. So many layers could be built around them to create many wonderful stories. Why are they trying to destroy it Keep Laura healthy and in love with her Luke. Keep Luke adventurous in his love for his Laura. Remember their past, and continue their future. Thank you -- I trust that you will do the right thing for Luke and Laura and their fans.

    Comments: Please keep Laura forever. I've never seen her on the show till now cause I was young when she was in her catatonic state. My mom told me the wedding with Luke and Laura was the most beautiful thing and she cried that day. I was familiar with Laura when my mom told me all about it, and when Laura came back, with me not knowing her sweet character that she is, made me cry and have tears in my eyes. Please keep her on her. Don't make it 6 weeks. I'm starting to know her now and love her character everytime I watch it. Thank you!

    Comments: I really haven't watched GH for the past two months cause it's bored me to death, but I've been watching the stuff involving Laura and it is the best part of GH right now. It rises way above any other current storyline and I think it will be a big shame for Laura to leave. Genie is such a fantastic actor and her and Tony's performances together have been absolutely gripping. Please GH, don't give up the best thing you've got going.
