We implore the Canadian federal government to set food policies to limit the quantity of added sugar and high fructose corn syrup in the food supply. Firstly, to ensure federal food policy committees are not controlled by members of the food industry. Secondly, require labeling which reports the quantity of added sugar in products. Thirdly, put a tax on sugar to encourage food manufacturers to reduce the sugar content of foods. And finally support a healthy eating campaign.
