Having said that, I wanted to let you know that I have accepted another route starting Monday the 17th. I understand and accept Cardinal's policy regarding route distribution. Again, while I really appreciate your support, I don't think that this petition should continue. Name: Joan on Mar 31, 2008Comments: After reading your comments regarding your school bus driver I have to tell you I was shocked! I have known her to be a loving and caring mother not only with her children but with other children as well . I have read many of the cards from her children and parents from her bus route the first three years she was at Cardinal and she received many thanks for being the warm and kind person she is. I know that they were very thankful for keeping their kids safe and she could only achieve this by being prudent and by following rules and explaining to the children how it is unsafe to jump around or yell and scream. perhaps you might have mistaken this as being negative rather than positive. I have multiple sclerosis and she has been a warm and caring friend always willing to help when needed so it is really hard for me to understand how you came to perceive her the way you have.Flag

I have known Edita for many years and have to say that she has always shown care and consideration for the children. Edita was always on time,would always wait for children and parents if the weather was lousy. This to me looks like a very sad attempt at trying to get a particular route back! My children were extremely upset when Edita left our route, but my wife and myself acted like adults and carried on with life. Maybe Alice should too!Flag

Name: Sonia Yarmuch on Mar 31, 2008Comments: I am shocked at the accusations thrown at Andita. If someone is a friend of Alices, just tell Cardinal that, instead of crucifying an innocent soul. If Andita is being mean, rude, and leaving children at school, the school would take action and such an unreliable person would not have a bus route for so many years. She drove our kids to St. Dominic for 2-3 years and we would take her back in a heartbeat. Andita was the best, most responsible, most reliable, most caring,...bus driver we have ever had. I knew my child was safe when he got on her bus, and the kids loved her. Yes, they had to follow bus rules, but as a parent, that is a good thing!! Make sure you know all the facts so the "story" can be accurate.Flag

Name: Helen on Apr 1, 2008Comments: My son was only Andita's route for only a year and we were very sad to see that she was no longer on that route at the start of this year. She was always on time. The kids on the bus had rules to follow and she was diligent about them. This year our bus route has had about 6 different drivers. It was very distressing to see kids screaming and yelling, standing up and moving around while the bus was moving. Some of these drivers allowed this. Andita would never have allowed this. We always felt our son was safe on her route. Also, as my son had only started kindergarten last year, I loved how she saved the seats up front for the Kindergarten kids. It made him feel less anxious about taking the bus with the big kids. I would love to have Andita back on her old route-123.Flag

Name: Jeanette on Apr 2, 2008Comments: I really feel sorry for the person who started this petition. Edita was a driver for our stop for over 3 years and she was quite the opposite of what you have been describing in your petition (also her name is spelled Edita, but that goes to show how much respect you have for her already, I guess you don't really know what you have). She is one of the most caring and responsible human beings that I have met both on a business and personal level. She has driven 3 of my children from K-3 and has always been "ON TIME" and will enforce all rules and regulations to children as according to Cardinal & Transportation rules & laws. We were truly blessed to have a wonderful human being as a driver and I really feel that once you abide by the rules & regulations as we do, you could really enjoy her with your children. Edita has NEVER made a child cry when she was on our route and believe me I would know because I'm very connected to a lot of children in the Community. She will always take the time to ensure your childs safety and I would hope that as you would with teachers in your schools, support and respect her in front of your children. Unfortunately, I think Alice should just accept the fact that change is a good thing and just because she had her little "perks" of waiting for the children and not following the correct time schedule, this has caused Edita to risk the safety of your children. Our children would all have to line up for the bus and be waiting 5 min. before the scheduled time....I'm sure you as parents wouldn't want to risk your children running across roads and darting out to try to catch a bus that is waiting. If I were Edita, I would seek legal action to the petitioner for defamation of her character and slandering her name (which I have to mention again that you must not know her too well to spell wrong) have the petitioner make a public apology for all the problems and undeserving stress caused to Edita and her family. Shame! I'm sure you can figure out a more positive way to handle this and to find all the great things she has to offer your children. We would have her back if the timing was right on our route, you are very lucky parents. If this person wants Alice back as a bus driver, there is a more respectable way of doing so, maybe they should just ask politely instead of putting the current one down. This breaks my heart to read such an untrue one-sided petition.Flag

You have shown parents in the neighborhood how you deal with situations, instead of dealing with it in a positive manner, you become a neighborhood bully yourself! I hope you haven't been talking in front of your children with such lies, discrimination and hatred - Bullying has to stop in the home! Be a positive role model for your children and grow up! Make sure you attend the next community meeting so we can all attend and meet you to teach you how you can make our community a positive and safe place for our children. I'm sure with all this energy you have, you can enjoy life more and maybe take up a hobby or better yet a course in personal development.Flag
