The school administration has confirmed that my photograph will appear in the final publication. I appreciate your commitment to this cause throughout the process. We reached a fair resolution that allows the image to be included.

Hi all. This is my photo that should be going into the yearbook, but we know how finicky the school systems can be. I'm hoping that with enough signatures, my school simply can't turn this down.

Edit: To clarify, the school HAS NOT YET DECLINED this photo. This is my pre-emptive strike just in case such a thing were to happen. I wanted as many backers as possible before the deadline of September 15th.

Photo creds to Vincent Giordano, who took and edited this photo.

Edit 2: I can't believe how huge this is. I'm on Jezebel, the Gazette and CBS 6. Thank you all for your support! We'll hit 500 soon. Also, editing this on mobile killed the picture on here, but I'll get it back up ASAP tomorrow

Edit 3: I don't want to even discuss the number of signs this has gotten. It's nuts...

The school and I have worked out a compromise we're all happy with. It'll be in there, just not in the senior section. More news to follow...

Edit 4: There's now an official link for tee shirts here

http://teespring.com/dravenandhiscat

The proceeds will be going to a cheap car for myself, as well as college and my photographer, Vince. Feel free to get one!

I guess NY is slow. Yearbook photos here in KY can be taken with your horse, cow , car, 4 wheeler , you name it ! Let this guy show his love for his cat. Great photo, why not promote kindness to animals? I hope he gets his photo in the yearbook!

When I was a senior in 1968, we posed for stiff formal portraits in black and white. That ere is long gone. Students should be allowed to pose with objects that mean something to them - I have seen senior portraits with sports equipment, for example.

Clearly no harm was done in the making of this photo! Too often we see and hear of the great horrors surrounding animals. Let this attest to the love and friendship this young man feels as he spills over into his new life ahead. Let Mr. BIgglesworth stay!!

As a victim of yearbook rejections myself (one of my quotes didn't make it into the year book but a girl with suspiciously similar quote did) - I'm all for this student having his senior yearbook dreams come true and immortalized forever! Awesome photo!

I'm a photographer and I took my nephews senior portraits. The one he chose was with his horse. His high school allowed it. Please let him have his photo with his kitty. We are all individuals. Let him show his individualism. It sends a positive message.

I'm 62, and remember well having my school require me to put on a white cardigan sweater (backwards) and a string of pearls for my senior picture. Thankfully, things have progressed, at least in most places. Let the kid have his cat in the picture.
