Dear School Board,
The fact that we as a school district are using obsolete technologies like boilers is a disgrace. We want to say that we are "Going Green" with clubs such as Greening Stoga, but a fundamental part is missing: you. Without any real support from the School Board, we as a community cannot really do much to impact our environmental footprint. Here is a chance to change that.

We can start making an actual difference right now. We can switch from our obsolete boiler technology to a state-of-the-art, green technology called geothermal heating/cooling. The basic idea is that we use the Earth (a nearly infinite source and collector of heat) to collect heat from in the winter and dispense heat to in the summer. In other words, we use simple heat transfer mechanisms to regulate the temperature of the building.

Please seriously consider this technology, as it would be very beneficial to our school district. We would save money as well as help the environment, as geothermal heating and cooling is one of the most efficient methods known of heating and cooling a building.  If necessary, we will band together and write a grant proposal to cover the financial costs.
