Comments: The Fine Gael government must abandon its cowardice and act to ensure that the incessant procrastination brought about by Catholic Ireland is no longer tolerated. Enda Kenny should ensure that Savinda Halappanavar's death is not the latest in a long line of tragedies to be swept under the carpet of awaiting reports or enquiries. The government must act now and act decisively to ensure that this can never happen again.

Comments: Women have a right to control what happens to their bodies. Abortion can happen to a woman only. Therefore, only women should be given a say in this matter. Ireland is a republic, not "a catholic country". People of every and no religion are entitled to live their lives according to their personal good morals.

Comments: Ireland is a sham of a country ! I would never return, having lived in Europe for more than 20 years. Irish politicians were NEVER interested in the rights of women - this case would have received no attention if the woman had been Irish, poor and uneducated, unaware of her rights. Savita's family thankfully know their rights and have the courage to take action. My full support for her husband - his actions are absolutely appropriate and commendable ! Unlike the actions of the Irish government in this fiasco ! Not to speak of the blathering of certain MALE s0-called "senators" and politicians, being given constant coverage by the Irish media in this particular case, who have absolutely NO RIGHT to speak on behalf of IRISH WOMEN of child-bearing age. You bastards don't risk losing your life - would Enda Kenny be so much in "no rush" if we were dealing with HIS wife or HIS daughter lying in agony and begging for help????? I am absolutely disgusted with these people!
