I was going to buy the G8 ST in 2009.... I still have never purchased a new car because the el camino is the only one I want. I have owned two 1970s, one 1985 and several other car trucks. I promise to buy one. I have been ready and waiting my whole life.
Well done!! I'm from Australia and our el Camino ute is stopping as well. I'm lucky I have one but we also have many people who are very upset that they will be no more. I love your el Camino ute and can't believe there isn't a market there for them.
I'm an auto writer, track junkie, and performance car enthusiast who also runs a professional ballet company and makes most of the sets. A Ute is basically the perfect car for me, and this seems WAY more likely than a Mercedes-AMG C63 S Ute.
I currently own a 1984 El Camino that has been restored better than new. 350 V8 & 200r4 trans. It is comfortable, and the right size for the city. It is also ideal for light to medium hauling. I think a new version would appeal to many, myself included.
Mary and Mark Reuss. Please bring this car back (even if it's a short run)!! I am a buyer 100%! Bought a G8 when they first came out and would have bought the G8 ST. Been considering the Chevy SS, but would rather have the Ute (as it is, no changes!!)!
A great idea! Options with a base engine, an EV option, and an SS version with a normally aspirated V8 would appeal to all segments.
Sad day when I had to sell my El Camino.

I heard there was a concept car/truck based on the Pontiac G8 platform right before Pontiac got the axe.... Just saying... The groundwork is already there, and I, for one, would definitely buy one. My '66 Elk was one of the favorite cars I have owned.
