papykostoPitié Apple!!!!!!!!!!!! Penses à ceux qui te sont fidèles depuis 1982. J'ai confiance en vous
Adam EskerI find it unfair because I invested my hard earned dollars into the most upgradable machine, yet I cannot upgrade my video card.

Serge ClauserUpon purchasing my Mac Pro, I always thought I would have the option to upgrade to a newer, more reliable video card than the x1900 XT. I currently have the stock 7300 GT, and I am not happy with the results I am getting. The x1900 XT isn't even worth it, as I have read many reviews saying they had many problems with it. The 8800 GT is a lot faster than the x1900 XT, and is almost $200 (CAD) cheaper. What's the deal here? Is Apple intentionally making it so we can't upgrade to the 8800GT? Why can 1.0 PCs run the card, but Macs can't? PCIe 2.0 is backward-compatible with 1.0. I believe that the only issue we are facing right now is a mere firmware issue. When is Apple going to do something about this?
Rob LiuI play World of Warcraft. I am dissapointed to say that my mother's iMac run's WoW better than my 2.66 Mac Pro. If I had known that my Mac Pro wouldn't have been upgradeable, I would have just bought an iMac, or even a Macbook Pro. This is the last time I support the "Power Series" of the Macs.

AnonymousWhen this 8800 GT for the first generation of the intel based MACPROS will be available, the 9800 or even 10800 ??? will be here for PCs. First and last time I go with Apple ! Let's go back to mainstream again. And viva las PCs. An unhappy switcher.
Yuee Ongat this rate, I am going to purchase future Mac Pro iteration and build a hackintosh.
Robin DickenPlease make your new cards backward compatible. Thanx, Robin

Mikalis GrundeThe ATI card in my first machine cooked itself... largely due to Apple screwing up the firmware. The 8800 doesn't work in my machine... largely due to Apple screwing up the EFI. If video card upgrades don't exist for the 5+ years I could use this machine, I won't be buying another Mac.

Johan AlmIf this isnt solved pretty soon I will have to buy a pc card and start migrating all my stuff to windows. My original ati card is faulty and I just wont buy a 2 year old card for the silly amount you are charging for it.

benjamin ozmentapple makes a fine product, and there are incredibly talented people that promote your brand, please assist them in making finished products that reflect your commitment to quality. Thank you.
AnonymousIt's a shame to currently have only one choice for upgrading the video card in the older Mac Pros. I would buy an 8800 GT in an instant if Apple comes out with an upgrade kit for my April 2007 Mac Pro.
Anthony WeelingPlease, I want to use my 8800GTX in my Mac Pro ! I'm forced to boot Windows XP... I can't stand swapping my 7300GT & 8800GTX in & out to get OS X Runing... ! GIMME MY LEOPARD BACK ! GIMME 8800 Mac-DRIVERS PLEASE ! A.

Kevin CarterPlease please make the 8800 Gt 512mb available for the pre 2008 2nd gen Mac Pros
eric gonzales
Justin Hustonalready expensive as it is but for those of us that got scammed with the Radeon x1900 with our Mac Pros, Apple you seriously owe at least this to us.
Eric SchwartzOK, 4 months have passed. If Apple really has no intention to let us upgrade our "old" new wokstations, then at least WE DESERVE an official statement from the company! This is outrageous behaviour with complete lack of any official information! I am a 3D professional and my work depends on this. Macs are not so cheap that Apple can treat us this way. I want to know what to do: 1) Shall I sell my Mac Pro 8-Core "high end workstation" that is just 4 months old so that I can buy (with a very bitter taste) a 2008 series Mac Pro just to have decent and modern graphics card, or 2) I can wait a bit more and Apple will finally come to their senses and give us a reasonable and modern graphics card. Or they will keep silent about this - maybe the most frustrating issue in my long Mac ownership ever - and I'll finally get mad and sell it for a Dell. Apple! Can we have the status of this issue?
AnonymousTOWER, that is spelled UPGRADABLE please!
Damir Frkovicthis is outrageous - we bought our top of the line 8 core mac pro late 07... and now this new card wont work with it... even though pcie 2.0 cards are supposed to be backwards compatible... there are realy no other high end gpu upgrade paths for this machine except for the radeon x1900 XT which is a total failure - is apple just trying to get me to upgrade to an 08 mac or are they just completely oblivious.
T van RitbergenThis is imperative.
Kari Seppänen
Jim Hickoxhow outrageous can this get? How much contempt can a company have for its customers? How ridiculous is it that I'm typing this right now?
