Ann HelmickI am EXTREMELY disappointed that my family can no longer have an amusement park to go to , which we went several times a year on family outings! WE are all VERY sad about geauga lake no longer being there , what are we supposed to do now? Not EVERYONE can afford to just up and go to cedar point for the weekend which is 3 hours away from us ! Or kings Island which is 5 hrs away! Thanks alot JERKS!
Alison RossmanMy brother and I have a lot of memories from Geauga Lake. We used to go every Friday night with our parents. I just think this is awful. If it has to close and the rides be sold off, at least save the Big Dipper for those of us who love it!
C CostelloWe will greatly miss the park, just as we have greatly missed Sea World!
Michael D. Smithcedar fair bought geauga lake with the intention to close it. i've been researching every news report, press release, announcement, etc. and it's quite obvious. they wanted to eliminate any amusement park competition. they weren't worried water park competition for soak city because they knew if people made the trip to cedar point and also wanted a water park, they'd just go to soak city since it's right there. they figure they can milk a little money out of wwk(i won't refer to it in any way as geauga lake) but i bet it will be closed within 2 years. cedar fair is in big time debt which has extremely little to do with geauga lake. you'll see...2 years tops. please, please, please everyone that's outraged by that greedy company boycott all cedar fair parks at least this year. let's teach them a lesson. personally, when i come to visit my family this summer(as i do every summer), i will be checking out knoebels, hershey, waldameer, kennywood and conneaut lake parks. my money will go to anyone other than cedar fair.
DonnaI couldn't agree more with the previous poster, I plan to boycott Cedar Fair parks. Not sure where I'll go but I don't plan on giving Cedar Fair any of my hard earned money. They never gave Geauga Lake the attention it deserved. People can say whatever they wish about Six Flags but at least they gave Geauga Lake some decent rides...all of which Cedar Fair transplanted into some of their other properties. That is the only reason Cedar Fair bought Geauga Lake is to relocate some of the decent rides and shut down Geauag Lake.
Ann MaAs a patron to Sea World and then all the changes it went through- am I very sad and upset with the changes!!! I live down the street and can't now take my children to enjoy the park. Too many changes, too many promises broken. I read in the paper how they were going to make this a better park, and then they close the ride side down. What a disappointment. I truly don't even want to go to Cedar Point anymore, why should I put money (and a lot of it) in your pocket when you never had your heart in this and lied to us?!

Katie Underwoodi was able to atttend one of my favorite childhood parks of all time and i was rather disappointed. most of the park wasn't even running. there was definitly a lack of workers and that fun atmosphere that children of all ages enjoy. i only hope that things will turn around so the greatest park of all is as great as it was 15 years ago back when there was a sea world!! please make it better!!

Justin HutchisonI went there for years, first amusement park i ever went to. It was nice to have reasonable prices and a good location. I blame it on the economy too. But when our eco gets out of this slump i think it will come back to bite CF. I will sure miss the park and the memories made.

Rebecca RishelGeauga Lake was the first amusement park I went to in my life. It was the start of a great love for roller coasters that I have now. I loved the park because it was so much closer than "Cedar Point" and I was more likely to go there when I was short on cash because of gas expenses and such. I was 8 years old the first time I ever stepped foot in that park. I am 22 now. I guess some people dont realize what a great thing is, untill its gone. PLEASE think twice about your decisions!
EvelynMy son is at Cedar Point today. He went there for the high school physics class. He texted me to say that Top Thrill Dragster is not running...again. That ride is idle more than it runs. You'd think that after five years they'd figure out the problem and get it running...once and for all. Nope, Cedar Fair is too busy closing a great amusement park like Geauga Lake. My son would not be there if it weren't for the fact that he had to participate as part of his physics class.
Matthewthis makes me sad. I went there when it was geagua lake the first time as a child..then again when it was six flags, then again when cedar fair bought it...which indeed it looked terribly ran down when cedar point bought it...SAD its gna affect many jobs and fun times very sad it angers me greatly

Barbara MillerWe already have plans to visit the park in June. I guess now we will have to find some place else. We have been there before and really enjoyed ourselves. I can't believe that they will close like this.

Rebecca AttensonThe Big Dipper was my first roller coaster ride. I will never forget it and that was about 29 years ago. I hate that I will never be able to ride it again, it's sad.
marieit almost makes me cry to know that geauga lake is gone i used to go there at least twice a year growing up! i hate driving to cedar point then having to fight with the black kids all day about cutting in line plus admission is absolutely ridiculous! its not that the money wasn't coming in the expectation was too high!!! i know that i am a little late on this but its about to be that time of the year and i get so depressed because geauga lake is gone. once six flags bought it , it all went downhill from there. the whole thing is unfair its like it all happened over night ! they are all a bunch of money hungry son of a bith assholes!
kim royerI grew up going to that park and also my children grew up going to that park and have went 3 or 4 times a year including last year. I was very excited when the name was of the park was geagua lake again instead of six flags. Thanks for taking the only amusement park around here away from families who have made it a family get together to attend the park. I know nothing historical matters to you your like all the other millionairs who dont care or have a care about nothing or anyone but your self.

The Niedermeyer'sWe just found out the park is closed. We live in Pittsburgh and Geauga Lake was a great day trip. Not as far as Cedar Point (or as expensive) and our kids enjoyed the variety of rides and water parks. This is extremely disappointing news:(
j. wesleyIt's a shame to see such a great park close. This was always the highlight to summer. I'm sure this is just an attempt to funnel more people in to Cedar Point. Truly sad to destroy a park with such history, not to mention the jobs.

Connie JonesThis is so disappointing to me. I grew up going to Geauga Lake and have taken my daughters there every year who are now 24, 21, and 17. I was hoping to some day take my grandchildren there. How sad that something that has been around for so long and brought so much enjoyment and smiles to so many people is going to be destroyed. I am truly disappointed in Cedar Fair and agree that they are dishones!!!!!
Danielle NewbyNot sure why I haven't signed this already. This petition speaks every word of what I feel towards Cedar Fair for what they did (or, depending upon how you look at it, what they DIDN'T do) to Geauga Lake. Cedar Fair had the park's death planned from the moment they purchased it...with no regard for Geauga Lake's rich history. It would have been nice to know that my 2007 visit would be my last. I won't even begin to speculate what's to come with the old Paramount parks...or touch on the subject of how horrible Cedar Point is this year. Having been a loyal supporter of Cedar Fair for eight years, I am now almost embarrassed to have held the company in such high regard. I truly fear for the future of all of Cedar Fair's parks. Save Big Dipper.

JarodCedar Fair made their first mistake my removing X-Flight and Steel Venom. That might have been a reason why the park shut down. We would all be anticipating a new season if they hadn't removed those. But here we are with no park at all.

GMD-KThis park has been a part of my family tradition for a number of years. I can remember my mom watching as my father took me and my three other siblings on the log-ride. She had to watch because she was very preganent with my 4th sibling who has now missed the family experience of Geauga Lake and the ice cream run we make afterwords.... This has been a place of fun and excitement and memories and now it is being taken away. I am very unhappy about this decision. In a time when life is tough and families are parted - it is sad to tale something that does bind a family together.....
