| 4006 | Thomas Rotondo | This is a crime! I grew up in PA near the OH line and have been to Aurora a few times. I now live in Harrisburg PA and do not make it out there anymore. I was a big fan of Cedar Point also and would make many trips there. It is clear to me that Cedar Fair's only intention was to close down the competion to Cedar Point. I will never, ever go to another Cedar Fair park in the future. Also, I work in the travel industry where I influence the travel plans of hundreds of thousands of people each year. I will not reccoment a Cedar Fair park for their entertainment. |

| 4008 | Sean | Geauga Lake was the annual highlight of my summer. Now, if my family wants to enjoy an amusement park with actual rides (and not just a tiny water park), we have to make the 3 hour drive to Cedar Point, or the 4 hour drive to Kings Island, which I am sure is what Cedar Fair had in mind when they closed Geauga Lake. Who wants to drive either one of those distances, pay twice as much, plus pay for a hotel for one night (because who wants to make a 6 or 8 hour round trip in one day)? AND, to make matters worse, you are now charging roughly the same price to get into one small water park as you were previously charging to get into 2 parks. Not to mention what you have done to the economy of the city of Aurora and Geauga County as a whole. Shame on you, Cedar Fair! You took a 119 year tradition, and flushed it down the toilet, all in the name of making a buck for your larger parks. |
| 4009 | Joe | Granted, I've always liked Cedar Point better than Geauga Lake, having been born and raised here in NE Ohio, but I still liked to go to GL just the same. I mean, I rode my first roller coaster there, The Big Dipper. The fact that Cedar Fair gave us, the general public, absolutely NO warning whatsoever that last summer would be the final season for GL, has left a bad taste in my mouth towards CF. I might never want to set foot in CP or any other CF-owned park unless they preserve The Big Dipper and move it to CP. |
| 4010 | Jacob changet | hi I live in Louisville Ohio and I have gotten a season pass every year since I was 5 now I am 16 and it is depressing that they are taking most of the stuff out of it. Cedar fair has made a big mistake here. |

| 4029 | The Truth Hurts | I have a great interest in this as someone who has watched the park evolve for almost 40 years.
There is no conspiracy or evil plot here. But there are things that just don’t add up. And I think people have a right to know why this really happened and who is responsible. Having followed this story, I have waited for an indication from Mr. Kinzel for months and notice he has never addressed this situation, even with it being in the news so much. I was certainly not privy to the plans that they had for the park, but after awhile you began to say to yourself, what the heck are they doing with this? Having read through this and stuff on another website I think there is something wrong here, all based on observations and common sense. The closing call was the final act. Why wouldn’t they try to sell the park intact?
I think I can say with some accuracy that the park did not get the care and nurturing it needed to survive. In fact everything that happened last season indicated an almost systematic downgrade to the experience. The rollercoaster broke and wasn’t fixed. The observation tower stayed closed. The Halloween party left and went to Cedar Point. These facts are out there and with the owner staying quiet (heck, if it were my park I’d be jumping up and down to protect my reputation), you have to wonder.
I have been to this park and many others for almost 40 years. I would guess that I have been to Geauga Lake no less than 100 times in that timeframe. Maybe more. But hey, I’m no expert, but I don’t have to be one to smell a rat. Is someone going to do something about saving this place or is it a lost cause? No one should get away with such a wasteful crime. |

| 4031 | Suzanne | Unfortunately Cedar Fair is going to get away with closing Geauga Lake. Although there is nothing we can do to sway their decision, there is something we can do to regret their decision. I have already done what I can do to make them regret their decision. I have not and WILL NOT purchase season passes to Cedar Fair parks. Usually by this time I have four season pass stubs in my hot little hands and am checking the website to see when I can get them processed so that my family and I can attend Cedar Point on the opening day...NOT this year, nor will I ever purchase them again. Usually by now I've arranged vacation time to go to Kings Island and booked accomodations for lodging for a few days but guess again. This time our family will be going to Hershey Park. On the way home, we are going to check out Kennywood so that we can see if that will replace our beloved Geauga Lake. I refuse to give Cedar Fair one cent of my hard earned money. |

| 4040 | Jan Robinson | I know you said that the reason that you're closing Geauga Lake Park was because GLP would be competition for Cedar Point. I beg to differ on that. Cedar Point is famous for the coaster rides. GLP is thought of as a vintage amusement park. GLP is where you could take your kid and grandkids. You could tell your kids and grandkids about the history of the place. My husband could tell the grandkids that his mother, himself and daughter worked there. And maybe they could work there. Keep the tradition going. Now it's just a memory. |
| 4041 | Jennifer Fittipaldo | Some of my most fond memories were made at Geauga Lake and Six Flags. We were pleasently surprised at how much Six Flags did to keep adding to the park and it's many upgrades but all that changed when Cedar Fair took over. I slowly watched the park i loved wither before my eyes...and it is very sad. |
