Jayda | Im probably not going to go there anymore if they close the rides. I am actually more fond of the ride sectioni then the water park, although Liquid Lightning is a blast.

Joe S. | The way you announced the closing shows total disrespect to the local community and coaster enthusiasts. It's a real shame to see a beautiful 119-yr old park meet this fate at your hands. Did you even try? No marketing, nothing new on the ride side, much higher prices. No words can express my utter disappointment in Cedar Fair. Oh yes, don't expect my season pass renewal for 2008. Kennywood has EARNED my business.
Daniel Auten | better not close rides
Kristie Villalovos | I hate to see this happen
Alison Mauter | With all the money Cedar Fair generates from Cedar Point they should invest parts into fixing up Geauga Lake and turning into the great park it can be.
Amanda S. Tate |
Cliff Motko | Unacceptable and unforgivable!!!!
Traci Gibson | I pretty much grew up on this ride. To move it would be pretty sad.
Fred Esposito | I feel that the was bought just to be closed. If they had any real intentions of keeping it open they would have made improvements to the park. The last visit during a company picnic, The park was dirty, the rides look like noone was taking care of them and the food was terrible. This granted was no Cedar Point but if the place was properly tended to, I strongly feel it would have been more popular.

Amanda McGowan | This used to be a great park, a family place, and something the community was proud of. Let's bring it back!
Jean Zurcher | I have loved both ohio parks for many years. If my family wanted an all day adventure, we went to Cedar point, if we only had a few hours or it was a last minute decision, we went to Geauga Lake. How disappointing it is to see a conglommerate take a small family park and close part of it because they were afraid of the competition.
Ken (season pass holder) | I have been to the Lake every other year for all of my life. Season pass holder this year for the first time. How can Cedar Fair give up on such a great little place?

Lukas Hernandez | There's just no reason for this obsurdity.
Kristen LaMoreaux | Long time Northeast Ohioan, this park, throughout my lifetime has been a special park with an immense history. I don't believe in standing in the way of progress, I understand this was likely a profit driven decision, which is to be expected. But there is also a lot of history at stake. I agree the choice and decision is not easy, but please take into account the people and communities that have been around Geauga Lake longer than your company has.
Jordan | Please do not tear this down, please!

Tom G | At the very minimum a warning would have been nice, talk about being unprofessional.
Robyn Paterniti | Don't make it into a water park only! If it had more coasters it would be a great place to go as Cedar Point. I've gone to Geauga Lake for over 40 years and loved it. It needs more updated rides and the care that has been given to Cedar Point. It would attract more if it was given loving care instead of letting it get so run down. Don't give up on Geauga Lake! It can be great again just give it the TLC that Cedar Point has been given all these years. It wonderful to have it so close. Don't tear her all down Please!

Daniel Adams | I have ridden the Big Dipper many times and it's just a classic ride that I feel should be preserved in a spot somewhere in the country, and not torn down to make way for something ridiculous
Wendy | Don't do it
Leo from NJ | I made my first visit to Geauga Lake this year. I just didn't realize it was my last. I really had a lot of fun on the coasters. Big Dipper was a sure surprise for its age. I really do not want to see the Big Dipper go. It's a sure classic.
Joanna Rourke | I rode my first roller coaster at geauga lake.

Matt Keppler | I believe the operation was fine as I attended the park many times and still had a blast, but I do not agree with the removal of rides and closure.

Dee | This is a shame. This park is a BIG part of my childhood. It is not fair that we the patrons were not notified of the closing. I would LOVE the chance to get inside 1 more time to take PICTURES.

Thomas Hughes | I had high hopes for the future of Geauga Lake after the Cedar Fair takeover, and the first year showed promise. It seems clear that Cedar Fait quickly lost interest however. It would be tragic for classic rides such as the Big Dipper to be destroyed.
Gabe Mot | The closing is a very dissappointment
George H | Why was the public not notified of the closure?
