If you are not a resident of Broward County, Florida, please do not sign this Petition. Recently, the OUTGOING Broward County School Board agreed to: 1. Hire a General Counsel with no education law experience. 2. Retain Ed Marko, the outgoing General Counsel in the position of General Counsel Emeritus. The salary for said position was supposed to be in excess of $250,000.00. Currently, the salary is not set. After this, the General Counsel who was hired advised the School Board he did not want the position. Despite this, Mr. Marko has may be retained as General Counsel Emeritus. His salary will be set by the NEW Broward County School Board. Based on the foregoing and the absolute economic strife all people and governments currently find themselves, the undersigned respectfully assert that the General Counsel Emeritus's salary should be set at $1.00.
