Comments: Gay marriage should be legal just be cause the fact that they have the right as any one else does and we are all humans no matter what our beliefs are and who we like. It is not there falt that they are diffeent they dont choose who they like it just comes to them that is why I am proud to be bisexual and happy that i have found some one that i love and that loves me. It is hard to find guys that are fine with it but i have found some but i still have my one true love wich is a girl. I hope that this will help to make it legal cause we are in the USA and we are all supposed to be free so why not make gay marriage free. Hello look at the black issue it took a long time to let them be free but now they are so it will only be time befor people accept this and stop dissing on it. It is just a way of life for lesb, gay ,and bisexuals that is who they are and nothing any one can say can change that about them.

Comments: Its funny, how I live in a country that allows "gay" marriage, but not the gvt is going to take it away... Are we not all the same I can't marry my partner, because it's not real, but when it comes to taxes, I am real to the gvt.

Comments: When will the seperation of church and the state be put in effect People need to stop being radical about new changes. The traditional ways wouldn't last forever and there will be gay marriage in the future so just accept it, people!

Comments: I agree with what you are saying. I am in a happily commited relationshp with the love of my life. I have asked her to marry me once this ban is gone on gay marriage. we have a beautiful daughter and can not get married. we have no rights as domestic partners. if i were to get injured she could not stay with me or get information about me from the hospitol. That is bull, God forbid something happens to our daughter, they better be giving up information. I am for gay marriage and until it is passed I will continue to sign and have others sign as well.

Comments: I believe as a homosexual american that my right to pursue happiness is being interrupted by my government denying same sex marriage. Keeping gay marriage illegal also violates the Due Process Clause of the Fifth Amendment. According to the American Civil Liberties Union in 1996, (3) “The law [against same-sex marriage] discriminates on the basis of sex because it makes one's ability to marry depend on one's gender.” The ACLU goes on to say, “Classifications which discriminate on the basis of gender must be substantially related to some important government purpose…tradition by itself is not an important government purpose. If it were, sex discrimination would be quite permissible; discrimination against women has a pedigree in tradition at least as long and time honored as that of discrimination against same-sex couples in marriage.”

Comments: I am in the same boat. I am 15 and I don't think it is right that anyone can have a say in what I can and can't do in regards to my personal life. If i ever find a guy I love, I want to be able to marry him and not have to worry about anything. I will do my best to get this petition some well needed attention.
