Name: Melody Johnson on May 3, 2005Comments: The obvious main reason for the rise in gas is greed! Where I lived was an oil refinery & the gas station was a block away, yet the price per gallon was among the highest in the state! Nothing but greed can explain this phenomenon!State: UTCountry: USFlag

Name: Jason Foy on Sep 1, 2005Comments: They should limit the amount gas companies can increase today i saw a .50 cent jump and if they can easily jump.50 cents whats to say another $1.00 , I realize that gas is a rare fossile fuel, however at 3.00 a gallon consumers will soon be buying nothing but gas food and shelter because thats all some of us will be able to afford.State: MNCountry: USFlag

Name: Anonymous on Apr 22, 2006Comments: Gas prices are rising based on market FEARS and not on physical supplies. This means the mentality is to charge "what the market will bear". Our legislators are sitting by silently rather than passing a windfall profits tax as they should. When they threatened to immediately after Katrina, it worked and gas prices fell !!!State: CACountry: USFlag

Name: Sam Paulson on May 5, 2007Comments: Have you noticed that there are no gas price wars anymore, that Oil companies are making the highest profits of any company ever It is because there is no competition in the oil business since the BIG oil companies were permitted to buy out the little oil companies. The oil companies are now acting like a monopoly with no restrictions. Monopolies are regulated because there is no competition. Oil must be regulated now.State: FLCountry: USFlag

Name: Catherine Reeves on May 9, 2008Comments: I am absolutely fed up!!!!!!! This constant rise in gas prices is breaking me in more ways than one. My wallet, my home life, being able to raise my kids and spend time with them, because i have to work longer to make up for the constant spending for gas. I work under 20 miles from my home and it cost me about 80 bucks minimum a week. I don't have a rich mommy and daddy, I don't have a trust fund. I do have 3 children, I do have a decent job, and I am still drowning in this crisis!! We, and I speak for a lot of young adults, are fed up!!!! Please, please do something for the little people that run this country. We can't cook, clean, or provide our talents to the economy if we can't even afford to get to work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!State:Country: USFlag
