| 2151 | Robert Moyses | Hello my name is Robert Moyses I am writing again attempting to get an answer and a date when we will have an R18 rating for games in Australia.
You have been refusing classification for many games effectively banning them only to have them released months later in censored form.
The MA15+ classification is sorely inadequate and inconsistent, you often shoehorn Adult games into MA 15+ which I would have given an R18 rating.
Left 4 Dead 2 developed by Valve and published by Electronic Arts is the latest victim to be refused classification. Valve has submitted an edited version with major changes, such as no decapitation, no wound damage, no zombies staying on the ground after being killed.
This is completely ridiculous and laughable in this day and age.
Imagine the same censorship were applied to movies, so no gore, if somebody dies they magically disappear, you would need to censor half the movies out there.
I refuse to purchase any game that has been censored, I make my own decisions this is not China where you dictate what I can or can not watch, listen, read or play.
Do you realise if this butchered version goes ahead it will be the only one on earth, every other country will enjoy the proper game as it was intended by Valve.
You are not a game developer that you make changes to the games, your job should be simple view the game then give it a rating end of story, we the consumers will decide what we buy.
I guess Australia will be the laughing stock once again in the gaming community if this happens.
The gaming community would like to have Michael Atkinson removed from position due to the fact he has continually blocked a R18 rating, therefore he has not acted on the publics wishes and instead has personal bias hinder the introduction of a R18 rating for games.
Thank you. |

| 2153 | Peter Geras | This is absolutely ridiculous! Gore is such a mild aspect compared to the many other more explicit scenarios encountered by children under 18 in every day of their lives!
Rather than ruining the experience for a vast proportion of the gaming community in Australia, instead try block off porn sites that are as well known and easily accessible as google.
Leave the parents to decide if they want their children playing these games. Provide clear warnings.
Do not censor Diablo3. |

| 2174 | Anonymous | Hello, by not offering an R18+ rating to games, even though this rating is available to movies where realistic graphic violence is depicted against real people, you are encouraging people to seek alternate means of acquiring these games. This will mostly happen through the illegal exchange of software. For the mature game players and the sake of the gaming industry I implore you to adjust the classification to include an R18+ rating for games. Leave the individual or the parents of an individual to decide if a game, just like movie viewing is done now, to decide if the material is appropriate for viewing. Thank you for your consideration. |

| 2180 | Chris Doyle | Why can I watch a live action movie with sex and murder, however I can not watch a the same thing in computer animation? Our politions need to be better educated on who the gamer demographic is made up of. Its average age of gamers in austratlia is 28.. not 13! |
