Peter | I own a game retail store and I know that many MANY people are guttered over this. Fallout 3 was going to be one of greatest games this year. R18+ Rating is easy to implament, we can just ask for ID. If other game retail stores don't ask then it's THEM who should be punished, not the gamers of Australia.

| 1103 | Aaron Mitchell | Its embarrassing that we are the only english speaking country in the world that lacks an R rating for games.
While its not had a major impact on the medium before now the banning of Fallout 3 is a pretty poor herald of the future of games in Australia if we don't bring our standards in line with the rest of the world. |

Scott P. | Amazed it even needs parliament involvement, rather than just a decision by the classifications board.

Jesse Owens | I may not yet be an adult, but when I do reach that age I dont want to go to my local game store only to find the game I want is banned from Australia. How would you feel if you were denied a box office movie, just because the main character is an alcoholic?

David Smith | It is time to end this ridiculous censorship. The fact that one opinionated state Attorney General can wield such an enormous amount of power over the people of a nation stinks of dictatorship. Australia is supposed to be a free and democratic country and we need to fight to uphold that ideal.

Mark Burnett | Treat older gamers with the respect they are entitled to.
| 1113 | Gavin Muthukumaraswamy | Stop forcing the rest of the country to bare the burden of brining up other peoples children.
Stop blaming games for bad parenting |

Matt Gallagher | I stronly dislike the government acting as nanny for its population.
Anonymous | Is an R rating for games really so difficult a concept?
Nick |
Ryan Keon | Games are a form of entertainment for children AND adults. They should be classified accordingly.
Stephen Croft | I believe an adult should have the ability to view or experience in media format, what he/she wants within reason. I believe limiting games to an MA rating is not keeping with the idea of 'in reason' and I believe the 'think of the children' angle, is merely a vote grabbing ploy.
Adrian Love | I don't think ignorance is an excuse for harm done when it comes to paying attention to the things people value most, their children.
Steven Mason | I live in Victoria and what upsets me about the whole debarcle, is that I do not even get the opportunity to vote for Atkinson, yet he is personally reaponsible for me not getting the chance to play certain games. Gamers should not be made responsible for the OFLC's inability to effectively educate consumers regarding the rating system. You are wrong Mr Atkinson... give us our games!!!!!

Angus McLachlan | Its disgraceful that grown adults aren't even allowed to make the choice for themselves wether or not to purchase a certain game. Video games are as much an adult media in the same way certain movies are meant only for adults and we need a classification system that reflects that.
Anton Jurisevic |
David Farr | No R18+ rating for games is a ridiculous concept when the system for movies is different.
Dane Butler | It's time Michael Atkinson realised he does not represent anybody but himself when he gets in the way of a classification system relevant to the 21st century.
Aaron Viscayno | Stop generalising all gamers to be children and give adults the ability to choose what they want to play.
Aladar Apponyi |
| 1133 | Dane Resuggan | Being over the age of 18, I believe that there is a need for an R18+ rating for games. My reasoning behind this is that there are some games with really strong content, that get underrated, and there are also games that don't get ratings (because they don't fit into our current rating system).
That being said, I feel that there is a big need for an R18+ rating, because it will stop younger people from accessing particular games, and also allow older people to enjoy more mature games. |
Joel W | Make it happen! I'm sick of having things chopped and changed.
Asher |
Travis |
Daniel | R rated games have been pushed into the MA category because of the fact that there is no R rating. we need a R rating so minors cannot purhase R rated games
Zachary | Yet another act of ignorance by the extremely conservative OFLC. I suggest they actually play the game instead of asking for an overview.

Matthew Dyet | The lack of an R18+ games rating is not only unfair to the adults that play videogames but also to the industry that serves them. You're not protecting children by having no adult rating for videogames, you're sacrificing the right of adults to play those videogames and the parents the right of decision to buy them.
Dominic Harman |
Jack Venjking | Why have an R18 movie classification and not one for games?
Kimbal Bevan | Censorship shows a socities lack of confadence in itself.
Alex Leckie | Im truly sick of this, we all knew one day that the OFLC was going to have to take down a truly good game, and now its happened. Time for a bloody change.
