Name: Roman Samul on Mar 2, 2004State: UTCountry: USComments: I am extremely upset about my phone not supporting SMS. I was told by the sales rep that sold me the phone that the built in keyboard worked great for text messages. It also says on the box that it supports text messages. Imagine my disappointment when I got home with the most expensive phone offered by Sprint, and it didn't support text messaging, after I had been told how great it was for text messaging. To make matters worse, the phone does support text messaging, but Sprint has it disabled and refuses to activate it. Lets get this fixed. Or else let me out of the 2 year contract I signed when I bought it and I will go to a provider that delivers what they advertise. I use text messaging more than any other feature on my cell phone, and I bought this phone because of the built in keyboard that the rep told me worked great with text messaging. Make it right Sprint.Flag

This is just one of three or four things promised about this phone that did not work once it was put into service. I have had this phone since it was first introduced.Flag

Name: Michael Penman on Mar 2, 2004State: NCCountry: USComments: The G1000 is the most expensive phone that you sell, and it is unfathomable to me that you would not have SMS service in place for it. Anybody that would put out that kind of money for a cellphone is looking for an instrument that is going to make them more productive in a mobile setting away from their PC. Chances are the individual has been "unwired" for years and has had to mix and match, cut and paste, and piece hardware and software together to make themselves mobile and productive. By purchasing the G, I like many other mobile professional thought that my days of piecemealing things was over, with the G1000 I was sure I had an all-in-one solution. It definately promised to be. Imagine my surprise when I couldn't return a garbled text message from one of my clients tha came in just a couple of hours after I activated the G1000. I called tech support and one of your technician flippantly tells me that SMS is not supported on the G1000, that I need to go purchase a third party software called verichat. Verichat!!!! +%$#$B*&@>X !!!!! I don't want to "...ing" chat. I want to send and receieve text messages like it promises all the Sprint advertisement. I feel that I have been mislead. This situation has been yet another disappointing blow I feel I have been dealt by Sprint. At this point I see little other recourse than to switch to another carrier after my contract is up. Without a software update to fix this text messages problem I really have no other choice, since SMS is vital to my mobile productivty viability.Flag

I really like this phone, but can not believe Sprint would lie in store, over telesales, and of course right on the box of the G1000 about its text messaging capabilities. This should be fixed immeadiately by Sprint.Flag
