Name: Dianne Hartness on Jun 12, 2003State: SCCountry: USComments: Please consider the massive mandates that are required of public education teachers. Although we are cutting budgets and therefore raising the number of students in the classroom, we are raising expectations of teachers. While high expectations do garner success, unreasonable time expectations hinder educators as they attempt to do a thankless, underpaid job.Flag

What happened to leaving no child behind Is a little over $1500 truly leaving no child behind Let's stand for our children and teacher's rights!Flag

Name: Claudia Lightsey Ware on Aug 5, 2003State: SCCountry: USComments: I have been teaching for 17 years and it seems we are taking one step forward and then three steps back. How does our state expect us to perform miracles when we have 28 children (all on varying degrees of ability)in a classroom. The demands are greater than ever before to improve, but when we don't have the support we need, it is difficult. We will never give up, but would appreciate education being more of a priority!Flag

What good does it do to offer college scholarships if the children coming out of the public education system are not qualified to attend college More money should be spent at the K-12 level.Flag
