The petition

There is a lot of advice available, but no real solution to the financial risk that must be borne by those of us looking to start a business or commercialise an invention.

Financial commitments and priorities such as a mortgage or saving for retirement prevent many viable businesses propositions from ever seeing the light of day. This leads to much of the work carried out by government enterprise and innovation promotional campaigns never bearing fruit.

Micro-investment platforms that allow risks and returns to be spread across a number of resource and capital investors in a controlled manner seem to offer a valid solution to this problem.

We would like to ask international governments to

(1) Evaluate the www.piefinance.com solution in more detail.
(2) Create a public sector tender requirement to allow it the be funding and provided as a FREE enterprise and employment support resource alongside the other free advisory and match funded grant assistance.
(3) Consider revising the legislation that currently only allows high nett worth and qualified investors to receive details of private investments to allow low value micro-investments to be made by a wider audience of investors. We would envisage a sliding scale related to income, outgoings and wealth.
